Nicole Kidman To Star In Horse-Ranch Prime Video Series
Nicole Kidman is heading back into the world of twists, secrets, and deadly drama, but this time, she’s trading beachfront mansions for riding boots and ranch life.
The Oscar-winning actress, 57, is set to star in and executive produce Girls and Their Horses, a new Prime Video series adapted from the novel by Eliza Jane Brazier. The story dives deep into the glittery and gritty world of elite horseback riding in sunny Rancho Santa Fe, California — a place where the horses are pricey, the secrets run deep, and someone doesn’t make it out alive.
Nicole will play the Parker family matriarch, a newly wealthy mother trying to guide her daughters through the high-stakes, high-drama world of competitive riding. But things on the ranch aren’t as picture-perfect as they seem. Behind the polished gates lie lies, jealousy, ambition, and a chilling murder that shakes the community to its core.
The show is still in early development, but buzz is already building. Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios are co-producing the series, which will stream on Prime Video. Jenna Lamia will serve as the showrunner. She recently adapted The Perfect Couple, another suspenseful beach read-turned-thriller series, for Netflix, also starring Nicole.
Nicole is no stranger to turning page-turners into TV gold. She’s already had major hits with Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, both based on bestselling books with addictive plots and unforgettable women at the center.
The source material, Girls and Their Horses, was a 2023 pick for the Read With Jenna book club, selected by Today show host Jenna Bush Hager. In her glowing review, Jenna called it “a thriller you won’t be able to put down this summer.” Turns out, Nicole couldn’t put it down either.
The book’s author, Eliza Jane Brazier, isn’t just a talented writer — she’s also a real-life competitive horseback rider. She often shares behind-the-scenes moments from her training sessions on Instagram, including one recent video where she proudly wrote, “Sage has come so far 💘.”
As of now, the rest of the cast hasn’t been announced, but if Nicole’s past projects are any sign, fans can expect a star-studded lineup and a storyline that grips from episode one.
