Wendy Williams Is Back! Star Breaks Down Over Financial Struggles
The controversial Wendy Williams is making a comeback. After more than a year of being away from the spotlight, she’s back and ready to share her struggles in a new Lifetime documentary that’s currently being made.
The 59-year-old TV star appeared in a trailer for her upcoming special two years after she left her show due to health problems. The new documentary is a two-night event that will follow Wendy and her deteriorating health.
After teasing viewers with Wendy’s tell-all documentary, the trailer was quickly deleted a few minutes after it was uploaded and shared on social media.
Based on what The Sun gathered from the trailer, Wendy was seen getting emotional as she opened up about her mental and physical struggles when the Wendy Williams Show ended.
Looking at the cameras, the host began, “Since I was six years old, all I wanted was to be famous.” In the background, footage of the radio host at the peak of her success was shown. The documentary also highlighted Wendy during her talk show days, including the celebrity’s addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The clip went on to showcase Wendy today, her first appearance after her hiatus from Hollywood. In one scene, Wendy’s son Kevin Hunter Jr. told the camera, “[My mother has] done an excellent job at making it seem like everything’s OK, but in reality, there’s something wrong going on.”
In the video, a frail and sick-looking Wendy was seen in the backseat of a car with a producer who asked if she had seen a neurologist. Wendy could be heard responding, “To see if I’m crazy? Mhm.”
The clip also showed Wendy struggling to stand up. A male family member said, “She was put in front of a judge and given a guardian. That was when they took her away from us.”
The camera then focused on Wendy who shockingly revealed, “I have no money. And let me tell you something: if it happens to me, it can happen to you.”
Another scene from the trailer showed Wendy’s family member asking her if she had drunk an entire bottle of vodka. Irritated and lying in bed, Wendy snapped at the man and told him to leave the vodka bottle with her.
Kevin asserted that his mother still has plans to return to television although he believes that his mother has worked enough during her career.
Wendy’s family also shared that the host appears to be losing her memory at times. There was a particular incident where the star admitted that she didn’t know where she was while driving in New York City. But Wendy has lived in New York for years.
In another bizarre conversation with Alex Finnie, Wendy’s niece, she told the American media personality that there have been “random people around.” Wendy added that they were, “stealing money from me.”
Wendy hasn’t been working on any projects lately. Around March last year, she was seen drinking and having a raucous night out in NYC. This was five months after she left rehab. She also went club hopping where she visited several Manhattan party areas. This prompted one source to reveal to Page Six that Wendy repeatedly mentioned wanting to get drunk on that particular night.
