Travis Kelce Talks Staying True To Himself While Dating Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce is keeping his feet on the ground despite the whirlwind of attention surrounding his relationship with Taylor Swift. In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday, June 6, the NFL star opened up about staying true to himself amid his newfound global fame. Travis, 34, emphasized the importance of his support system in maintaining his balance.
“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Travis said, adding, “I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off like that when I’m playing football, but off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road because you just never know when opportunities are going to present themselves.”
When ABC correspondent Will Reeve asked him to rate his life on a scale of 1-10, Kelce humorously replied, “20? 100?” He added, “I’m so fortunate, so grateful for everything that comes my way in life. I feel like I’m on top of the mountain, even after winning the Super Bowl and having the off-season that I’m having.”
“Living the dream, baby,” he added.
Travis and Taylor, both 34, first sparked dating rumors in September 2023 when the Blank Space hitmaker attended several of Travis’ games. Travis revealed on The Pat McAfee Show podcast that he invited Taylor to one of his games after seeing her perform at Arrowhead Stadium during her Eras Tour in July 2023, saying he “threw the ball in her court.”
The couple confirmed their relationship in October 2023, stepping out holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the pair were in the “super, super early days” of getting to know each other but were “having fun.”
Ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, Travis spoke about the additional media attention from dating Swift.
“You asked me how it is. And to be honest, I’m learning throughout this all. I’m just kind of on the plane ride, just cruising and trying to figure this thing out on the run,” he stated, as he navigates his surging fame while dating Swift.
