She’s Back! Mariah Carey Announces Her Return to Las Vegas
Four years since Mariah Carey’s last stint in Las Vegas, the city is welcoming the R&B pop singer back to the stage with her self-named residency, Mariah Carey: The Celebration of Mimi Live
The announcement is right on time for the 19th anniversary of Mariah’s highly successful album The Emancipation of Mimi. From April 12 to April 27, the 54-year-old icon is returning to the spotlight for eight dates at Park MGM’s Dolby Live.
Recall that The Emancipation of Mimi was released in 2005. Some of its hit songs were “Shake It Off ” and “We Belong Together.”
An official statement shared with Billboard, said, “…the Las Vegas shows will feature fan favorites from that album as well as other hits from her unparalleled illustrious career.”
Mariah has already had two residencies in the Entertainment Capital of the World. Her first stint was from 2015 to 2017 at The Colosseum at Caesars Place, which was dubbed #1 to Infinity. Her second stint was from 2018 to 2020, and it was called The Butterfly Returns.
During last Sunday’s Grammy Awards, she looked impressive with her to-die-for figure and generous cleavage. She also presented the Best Pop Solo Performance to 31-year-old Miley Cyrus for her song “Flowers.”
Mariah’s OOTD for the night was her signature look: a skin-tight gown with a thigh-high split. Her choice of attire showcased her tiny waist. She also wore her hair in soft waves.
The iconic superstar, who is a proud, self-possessed diva, shared a playful look at what her usual schedule looks like on her Instagram account. Her loyal fans weren’t a bit surprised that the six-time Grammy award winner’s day includes working out in a red carpet-ready OOTD and spending the day relaxing by reading her autobiography.
Many may roll their eyes at Mariah’s self-obsession, but the singer has always been known as a diva. She never denied this; she lives like a diva and is proud of the fact.
At the start of her video on social media, the newly single Mariah could be seen using a leg press machine while wearing a gold dress and matching heels. Of course, she was fully glammed up with not a strand of hair out of place. She said to the camera, “I’m Mariah Carey — of course, this is my workout ensemble!”
The clip went on to show the hitmaker lying in bed, wearing feather-cuffed pajamas and still wearing makeup. She is definitely living up to her reputation. She stated, “I’m Mariah Carey — of course, I have my glam squad on standby.” On cue, her glam squad moved into the shot and touched up the singer’s face.
In the next scene, Mariah was lounging by the pool wearing a bright pink Versace robe. She tipped her aviator sunglasses up and said to the camera, “I’m Mariah Carey — of course, I’m reading my own book!” She then reveals the cover of her autobiography, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey.
