Sharon Osbourne Tried To Take Her Own Life Because of Her Husband’s Affair
Marriage takes a lot of hard work, especially if the relationship is rocked by infidelity issues. For Sharon Osbourne, learning that her husband Ozzy was involved in a four-year affair was a major revelation that almost ended in suicide.
Recall that in 2016, the 75-year-old Ozzy had an affair with Michelle Pugh, a hairdresser. Sharon learned about it by going through her husband’s emails. It turned out that Ozzy and Michelle had a secret relationship from 2012 to 2016, causing them to temporarily separate.
Remembering the devastating blow and her heartbreak, Sharon admitted that she attempted to kill herself through overdose as she couldn’t understand or accept her husband’s actions.
While speaking with her friend, Jane Moore, in last week’s episode of Cut the Crap, Sharon shared, “He [Ozzy] always, always had groupies, and I was so used to that.”
But the affair with Michelle was different because Sharon knew that her husband was emotionally invested in the illicit relationship. Ozzy worked closely with Michelle and knew where she lived.
Unable to face the reality, Sharon admitted that she ingested an unknown number of pills. She assured herself that, “My kids are older; they are fine and can take care of themselves.”
While these thoughts were going through her head, Sharon locked herself in her bedroom and tried to overdose. The maid saw her when she was about to clean the room.
After discovering Ozzy’s infidelity, Sharon separated from the Black Sabbath rocker, the man she’d been married to since 1982. During a 2016 episode of The Talk, she expressed her gratitude to her fans and updated them on what was happening.
She said, “I’m 63, and I can’t keep living like this… I’ve been avoiding looking at any pictures or reading anything. I know what’s going on. I don’t need to read about or see about it. It’s like putting salt in a wound. I don’t need to… He’s back, and now I’m out of the house.”
Eventually, Sharon took Ozzy back after his extra-marital affair. In 2019, Ozzy described his wife as a god for being willing to reconcile. During his interview with The Sun, Ozzy said, “Sharon and I have never been as close as we are now. It’s great. Sharon has been a god. We all make mistakes. I’m lucky she took me back. Sometimes I sit there and go, ‘What the f*** was I thinking?’ I won’t understand why it happened until the day I die.”
For those who haven’t been following the couple’s relationship over the years, Ozzy cheated on Sharon multiple times. In an interview with The Telegraph in 2017, Sharon revealed, “There were six of them: some Russian teenager, then a masseuse in England, our masseuse out here, and then our cook. He had women in different countries. If you’re a woman giving Ozzy either a back rub or a trolley of food, God help you.”
In a separate interview with Metro News, she again described his earlier behavior, saying, “‘Back in the touring early days, it was 10 people a night, all dirty old groupies. It was nothing to me. As he got older he knew their names, where they lived, all that.”
