“Pile of Puke?” Kate Beckinsale Defends Her Christmas Tree Against Critics

Kate Beckinsale, known for her performances in Pearl Harbor and Van Helsing, is demonstrating she’s got no time for online trolls. The 51-year-old actress was recently criticized on social media after sharing her pastel-colored Christmas tree. What should have been a festive moment turned into a frenzy of comments, with critics slamming her holiday décor as “a pile of puke.”
The Tree That Divided Fans
Beckinsale’s unique tree, adorned with pastel trinkets and unconventional accessories, had the internet buzzing. One harsh commenter joked, “That tree makes me wish for a migraine so I can’t see it.” Another stated, “That tree is fugly, looks like a pile of puke,” while a third quipped, “That’s a clump of a tree… why did you torture the tree? Where’s the tree?”
Kate wasn’t about to let the criticism slide. She clapped back on Instagram, writing, “Oh, I worked really hard on it and I loved it so much, and it brought me joy. What a weird instinct to say that to somebody.”
The actress’s graceful yet pointed response was applauded by fans who admired her ability to keep it classy while defending herself against the trolls.
A Tough Year for Kate
It’s no secret that 2024 has been a rough ride for the actress. In January, Kate faced the heartbreaking loss of her stepfather, Roy Battersby. Her mother, Judy, has also been struggling with health issues and was rushed to the hospital in August.
Despite these personal challenges, Beckinsale has maintained her bravado, continuing to engage with fans on social media.
Taking Down the Trolls
This isn’t the first time the Underworld star has called out online haters. In July, Kate revealed a terrifying health scare during another bout of trolling, where a commenter criticized her appearance in a daring Instagram post.
The troll posted, “Go do some squats @katebeckinsale I think ur a** ran away.”
Kate didn’t hold back. In a scathing yet deeply personal reply, she shared, “No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly.”
She continued, “Then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus, which made me vomit copious amounts of blood. I found eating very hard and I just worked very, very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father. So I’m not really concerned about what you think about my a**.”
While some might question her life choices or décor decisions, Kate has shown that she doesn’t shy away from cruel trolls and life’s challenges.
