Pete Davidson’s $20K Apology to Colin Jost

It looks like Pete Davidson is trying to mend fences with his old friend and Saturday Night Live co-star Colin Jost with an extravagant Cartier watch reportedly worth $20,000.
According to an insider, the 31-year-old sent the luxury timepiece as an “olive branch” after their friendship took a nosedive last year. A second source revealed that the grand gesture came shortly after Pete completed a stint in rehab over the summer.
“This gift was a positive gesture that Pete made to Colin just after he got out of rehab,” the source confirmed.
From Best Friends to Bitter Feud
Fans were shocked when reports surfaced that Colin had cut ties with Pete after a decade-long friendship. The situation escalated to the point that Colin allegedly refused to even be in the same building as Pete at Saturday Night Live’s 30 Rock headquarters.
The exact reason for the falling-out remains a mystery, but speculations have run wild—especially considering their ill-fated Staten Island Ferry investment.
Staten Island Ferry Disaster?
The duo made headlines in 2022 when they impulsively purchased a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry for $280,000, alongside architect and developer Ron Castellano and comedy club owner Paul Italia. The plan was to turn the vessel into a high-end entertainment venue.
The ferry had its first major event last September when Tommy Hilfiger used it as a venue for New York Fashion Week. Colin was present, but Pete was noticeably absent.
Awkward SNL Reunion
The tension between the two comedians was on full display during Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary special. While both were in the same room, they never appeared on camera together.
Pete did participate in a skit with host John Mulaney, while Colin stuck to his usual Weekend Update duties. In fact, Colin even took a subtle jab at their Staten Island Ferry investment during the segment, joking, “A comedian at Trump’s rally referred to Puerto Rico as a floating island of garbage, and I take offense to that as someone who proudly grew up on an actual island of garbage.”
A Frosty Interaction
Despite the tension, Pete and Colin finally interacted briefly during SNL’s closing sendoff. Standing on opposite sides of the stage, the two eventually made their way toward each other for a quick handshake and short conversation. But it was far from a warm reunion.
While Colin enthusiastically hugged John Mulaney and expressed excitement toward musical guest Chappell Roan, his interaction with Pete seemed much more reserved.
And if fans needed more proof of lingering awkwardness, it was later reported that Colin attended the show’s afterparty while Pete skipped it altogether.
So, does the Cartier watch mean Pete and Colin are officially back to being best buds? That remains to be seen. But if luxury gifts are Pete’s way of making amends, Colin just got one very expensive apology.
