Olivia Rodrigo Brings Chappell Roan on Stage at L.A. Show for “Hot To Go!” Duet

Olivia Rodrigo closed the U.S. leg of her electrifying Guts World Tour with a bang.

The “Drivers License” singer surprised fans by bringing the fun and flirtatious “Hot to Go!” singer Chappell Roan on stage at Inglewood’s Intuit Dome on Tuesday night.

FOR A DUET.

Be still, my heart.

“I have a very special surprise guest for you today. I’m so excited about it, I have butterflies in my stomach,” the 21-year-old announced towards the end of the concert.

“I absolutely adore her. I think she is one of the most singular, inspiring, powerful artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I’m so excited because she is going to sing one of my favorite songs of all time with me tonight,” she continued.

“We’re going to sing you a song and teach you a dance,” 26-year-old Roan added before performing the song that gave her the billboard breakthrough “Hot to Go!”

For those who don’t know, the two singers go way back. “Midwest Princess” Roan, legally named Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, may have remained largely unknown for the better part of her singing career, but you can’t deny she’s technically gifted. Viewers who saw her open for the Murrieta native on the first leg of the GUTS World Tour already know that.

But did you know that the “Good Luck Babe” singer also opened for Rodrigo at her San Francisco stop during her first tour in 2022? The two also share a producer, Dan Nigro, who roped her in to help with the “Traitor” singer’s “Lacy” and “Obsessed.”

“We all work out of the same studio and Dan [Nigro] is like ‘Are you free right now, can you come help?” Roan opened up to Capital Buzz in January 2024. “So I go over there and sing harmonies cause it’s really nice on a song to have different tones. I love that [Olivia’s] open to having another vocalist; she’s so sweet to me.”

The artist skyrocketed to fame in the past few months—to the point where she gave Taylor Swift solid competition for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart!

But her journey hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows.

“I’m trying to figure out how to say this,” the rising star shared with her audience at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater in June.

“I just want to be honest with the crowd, and I just feel a little off today because I think that my career’s just kind of gone really fast and it’s really hard to keep up. And so, I’m just being honest that I’m just having a hard time today,” she added.
