North West Talks About Her Debut Album During Her First On-Camera Interview

North West is no stranger to the limelight. After all, she’s the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, two celebrities who have been at the center of several controversies. Recently, their ten-year-old daughter has been busy publicizing her first album, Elementary School Dropout, and gave her first on-camera interview.

Helping her make her on-cam debut was 13-year-old Jazzy from Jazzy’s World TV. It took place during California’s Rolling Loud Hip-Hop Music Festival.

The young rapper told Jazzy about her album by saying, “It’s gonna be great.”

“When’s it gonna drop?” Jazzy asked.

North said: “Like… I don’t know.”

Jazzy followed up by asking if North had any plans of collaborating with her famous rapper father. North coyly answered as she raised her hands, “Mmmm, maybe! We don’t know yet!”

Jazzy, otherwise known as Jazlyn Guerra, thanked her precocious fifth-grader guest for her time and complimented North on her mysterious vibe.

North’s first on-cam exclusive interview with Jazzy’s World TV was facilitated by no other than her mother, Kim Kardashian. She was also responsible for North’s first-ever interview when she was just four years old. It was eventually published as Interview’s cover story.

Many Instagram users had mixed reactions after watching North’s on-camera interview. Some called the youngster a “legit clone” of her famous father with all of Kanye’s mannerisms. Others observed that she looked quite nervous.

Still, others thought that North should go through “media training.” Some members of the public focused on Jazzy’s interview style, criticizing Jazzy for asking too many questions.

The public has observed that North has a deep admiration for her father. In many ways, she looks up to Kanye. Recall that North started following her 46-year-old father’s footsteps in March 2020 during Paris Fashion Week.

Kanye beamed with pride as his mini-me daughter dropped bars and made an impromptu performance during his Yeezy season eight presentation at Espace Oscar Niemeyer.

North earned some backlash for her performance and was accused of stealing the lyrics from the 2019 original track What I Do? by 5-year-old YouTube sensation ZaZa. Kanye tried to calm the public outrage by stating that his daughter’s impromptu version was a remix and even gave ZaZa a shoutout.

North’s Elementary School Dropout album is an homage to Kanye’s 2004 studio album, The College Dropout. It was a four-time platinum album and the winner of Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards.

Recall that Kanye once made a huge fuss about North being on TikTok, where he and his ex-wife Kim share an impressive 18.9 million followers. Still, many were in disbelief because he featured his daughter’s rap in one of his songs, “Talking/Once Again,” which dropped last February 7.

In the song, North could be heard rapping, “It’s your bestie. Miss, Miss Westie. Don’t try to test me. It’s gonna get messy. It’s gonna get messy. Just just bless me! Bless me!”

This turned out to be a soft launch of North’s debut studio album. North also announced her father’s listening party in Phoenix, AZ, by saying onstage, “‘Hi, it’s Northie, and I’ve been working on an album. And it’s called Elementary School Drop Out!’
