New Year, New Teeth: Kanye West Gets Teeth Removed for Titanium Dentures
Kanye West is known for his outrageous stunts but it looks like he keeps topping himself every year. Recently, the rapper had all his teeth removed so that titanium dentures could be installed.
The move was shocking even for the 46-year-old Kanye, who is currently facing legal charges for allegedly hitting a fan who asked for his autograph in 2022.
Kanye flashed his shiny new teeth in his latest post on Instagram. He even compared himself to Jaws, the iconic James Bond villain from The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.
The hitmaker’s new dentures were designed by Kanye himself and have been reported to be even more expensive than diamonds.
Kanye’s new surgical implants have a whopping price tag of $850,000. Kanye was assisted by Beverly Hills-based Dr. Thomas Connelly, who helped him fit his dentures with Master Dental Technician Naoki Hayashi.
Dr. Connelly informed one publication, “Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created an epic new look!”
Recall that in 2010, Kanye showed off a combination of diamond and gold implants while chatting with Ellen DeGeneres. According to the rapper, the sparkling implants replaced his entire bottom row of teeth.
During the interview, Kanye told the host, “I just thought that diamonds were cooler.”
The fascinated Ellen even joked and asked him, “It’s not a grill?”
Kanye answered, “It’s my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth. I guess there’s just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do.”
This claim was met with doubt and skepticism, with many fans questioning if Kanye would really go through such a procedure. The year 2022 was a challenging one for the rapper as his social media followers and fan base decreased. He was also dropped from several high-ranking endorsements, including Balenciaga, Gap, and Adidas after he went on an anti-Semitic tirade in October 2022.
Kanye was also reported to have over $1 million in unpaid taxes. It was revealed that Yeezy Apparel, LLC, his clothing firm, had four active tax liens against it for the last three years. The total amount of those unpaid taxes was $934,033.56.
In addition, Kanye owes $101,093 in property taxes on the two homes he and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, owned. His total tax bill is a monstrous $1,035,126.56.
We’ve yet to get an update from Kanye on whether he plans on settling the hefty sums anytime soon, especially since the penalties continue to pile up. Kanye is currently liquidating some of his remaining assets. For instance, his Malibu oceanfront property, which he bought for $57 million in 2021, is now up for sale for $4 million less.
In 2019, ex-wife Kim mentioned to the media that Kanye suffers from bipolar disorder. She said that her husband at the time found the diagnosis difficult to accept. He would instead tell people that he was experiencing sleep deprivation.
