Marvel Star Jack Veal’s Heartbreaking Struggle: “I’m 17 and Street Homeless”
Jack Veal, the 17-year-old actor best known for his role as Kid Loki in Marvel’s TV series Loki, has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world after revealing his battle with homelessness. The teen actor, who once shared the screen with Tom Hiddleston and appeared in hit series like The Peripheral and films like The Favourite, is now making headlines for a far more serious reason.
In a raw and emotional video shared on social media, Jack disclosed that he is homeless and desperate for help. Visibly distressed on a London street, he updated fans about his ongoing struggles, including a failed meeting with social services. “I’m 17 and street homeless,” he began, explaining that despite being placed under Section 20—a measure meant to protect vulnerable children—he remains without a safe place to stay.
“I Have To Stay on the Streets”
Jack’s latest update revealed the grim reality he’s facing. “They’re telling me it’s gonna be days, which is probably gonna be weeks, because they lie, ” he said, frustration evident in his voice.
Despite providing evidence that his home is unsafe, Jack claimed social services refused to accommodate him. “They wanna put me in foster care but in the meantime I have to stay on the streets.”
A Desperate Cry for Help
In a previous video, Jack shared even more heartbreaking details about his situation. Living in an unsafe trailer with broken windows, the young actor revealed his struggles with mental health. “I didn’t have a very good upbringing. I struggle with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis,” he shared.
Jack explained why returning to his family isn’t an option. “I can’t stay at my grandparents’ because my granddad is terminally unwell. I have nowhere else to go, and I need help.”
His plea to his followers was painfully direct: “I need help. Please share, please share it with whoever you can. You don’t have to pay me anything, I don’t need anything. I just need you to make this go as viral as possible. I’ll continue to put some more stuff out, but, please, I need help.”
A Broken System
A spokesperson for the Ministry for Housing, Communities, and Local Government addressed the issue, stating: “The impact of homelessness is devastating, and the law is clear that any 16 or 17-year-old who is homeless is a child in need and should be supported to find a safe place to live.”
The spokesperson added: “We are determined to end homelessness for good and are taking decisive action to do this—increasing funding for homelessness services to £1 billion next year, building more affordable homes, and tackling one of the biggest drivers of homelessness by ending no-fault evictions.”
For now, Jack continues to fight for safety and stability, hoping that his voice—and the voices of his supporters—will lead to real change.
