Kanye West Says $1.2 Million Worth of Gap Clothing Disappeared From His Warehouse
According to the latest Kanye news, $1.2 million worth of Kanye’s Yeezy GAP apparel is missing from his warehouse, approximately 60,000 pieces of clothing.
Milo Yiannopoulus, the rapper’s chief of staff, shared that their team discovered a fan account that coincidentally advertised a massive sale this Friday in Los Angeles. Based on the ad, people were promised tons of Yeezy GAP apparel that can be bought for $20 per piece.
Police authorities used the information as a tip, dispatching detectives and cops to the event. The sale organizers assured law enforcement that all the clothes they were selling were purchased legally.
The people at the event also insisted that they had documentation to support their claim. However, according to TMZ’s investigation, authorities were unable to trace every piece of apparel back to the receipts that were presented.
Despite the inconsistencies, Kanye and his team have yet to pursue the matter. Due to the contradictory statements, police could not confiscate the clothing being sold at the event.
Kanye’s team issued a cease and desist letter that was addressed to the organizers of the event. It condemned them for forging receipts and showing them to the authorities.
Yiannopoulus firmly stated that his team would never permit the bulk sale of Kanye’s apparel. According to him, nobody from his team was notified about the sale. Yiannopoulus added that they believe that the clothes were stolen.
Yiannopoulus emphasized that they would file the necessary police report and take additional measures to retrieve all the missing items. Kanye’s team claimed that they’ve been able to uncover one of the thieves’ identities through their own investigation. He assured the public that they would share any leads with the authorities.
Yiannopoulus is not new to being in the limelight. The media personality rose to global popularity as a right-wing pundit, even before he came to work for Kanye.
The Yeezy GAP row comes just days after Kante and Ty Dolla $ign had a controversial performance at the Rolling Loud Hip-Hop Festival. Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye are old friends. They worked together on Kanye’s latest album, Vultures 1 and a second album is reportedly in the works.
At the hip-hop music festival, the duo left many of their fans disappointed. Instead of rapping, they spent most of their time wandering around the stage without their microphones as tracks from Vultures 1 played in the background.
Ty Doll $ign referred to their odd onstage appearance as a “listening experience.” He told Big Boy TV, “It’s still better than other people’s shows with a mic.”
But even before they graced the stage, news that Kanye was headlining the festival was received negatively. The festival received backlash and criticism for allowing the controversial artist to take center stage at the gathering.
Criticism against Kanye focused on his insensitive and unnecessary antisemitic outbursts and rants, including a publicly released statement where the celebrity was heard praising Adolf Hitler as he promised to “go death con 3 on Jewish people.”
Kanye’s online tirade against the Jews did much damage to his career in 2022. His billion-dollar net worth plummeted and many of his brand endorsements were canceled. To this day, he is still reaping the negative effects of his words.
