Jessica Alba Marks 44th Birthday With A Letter To Her Inner Child

Jessica Alba just turned 44, and instead of a wild birthday bash, the actress and business mogul celebrated with something a little deeper: gratitude, reflection, and sweet family moments.

On April 29, Jessica shared a touching Instagram post filled with throwback photos and present-day snapshots of her three kids — Honor, Haven, and Hayes — calling them her “greatest gifts.” The post came one day after her birthday, and fans were treated to glimpses of her as a baby, a child, and a teen, all bundled up in a nostalgic carousel that was both personal and powerful.

“To my baby self — you are safe and loved,” Jessica wrote, wrapping up a caption that felt more like a letter to her soul than a regular birthday shout-out. She also posted a handwritten birthday note from her son Hayes — entirely in Spanish — that melted hearts across the internet.

The Fantastic Four star used the moment to get real with her followers. “Sometimes I get caught up in all the things of life,” she admitted, “and my drive for perfection is exhausting so I’m making space to accept myself — flaws and all and release the need to control.”

That reflection comes during a major life transition. Back in January, Jessica filed for divorce from Cash Warren, her husband of 16 years. While the news made headlines, she shared the decision on her own terms, calling it a step toward “growth and evolution” for both of them.

“I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years,” she wrote at the time, adding that while their romantic chapter was closing, they had built something strong together, especially as co-parents. Jessica is seeking joint custody of 16-year-old Honor, 13-year-old Haven, and 7-year-old Hayes, and the family even spent Easter together recently.

Now, with a new year ahead of her, Jessica’s birthday wish wasn’t about candles or cake. “As I move into this next year,” she wrote, “I wish for myself what I wish for everyone — to feel loved. To feel seen. To feel accepted. And to know you are worthy of your biggest dreams.”

And while she’s still steering The Honest Company and raising three kids, Jessica is also back on screen. She starred in last year’s Trigger Warning and will appear next in Maserati: The Brothers.
