Hugh Jackman’s Holiday Drama With Former Wife and New Girlfriend
Hugh Jackman might be basking in the glow of a new romance, but his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, might just derail his Christmas plans.
Jackman, who announced his split from Furness in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage, reportedly hoped to introduce Foster to his two grown children, 24-year-old Oscar and 19-year-old Ava, over the festive season. But according to Woman’s Day, Furness wasn’t on board with the idea.
A Not-So-Blended Christmas
An insider spilled that Furness “was not keen on the idea” of her children meeting Jackman’s alleged new love so soon after the split. “It’s going to take more time for loved ones to adjust to the new normal,” the source explained, adding that the holiday plans might leave Jackman spending less time with his kids than he’d hoped.
The source also shared that Furness feels Jackman is “moving on quickly” from their marriage, which she “gave so much of herself to.” They added, “If anyone is going to spend less time with the kids this year, it’s him.”
For Jackman, who has always been vocal about prioritizing his family, the holidays could be bittersweet as he balances his new relationship with maintaining harmony in his post-split family life.
The Broadway Connection
Rumors of Jackman and Foster’s romance first surfaced in December 2023. The pair shared undeniable on-stage chemistry as love interests in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man, which ran until January 2023.
While neither of them has confirmed the relationship, insiders told InTouch Magazine that their connection was an “open secret on Broadway.” Adding fuel to the fire, Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, screenwriter Ted Griffin, in October 2023, further igniting speculation about her relationship with Jackman.
Reports suggest that Jackman’s close bond with Foster might have even contributed to the breakdown of his marriage to Furness. The theater grapevine claims Furness had her own “suspicions” about Jackman’s relationship with Foster, which deepened over their year-long stint in The Music Man.
Meanwhile, sources close to Jackman and Foster insist the pair are “100 percent together” and deeply in love. “They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge,” one insider revealed to Page Six.
A Holiday of Adjustments
As the holiday season approaches, Jackman finds himself at the center of a complicated family dynamic. While he’s reportedly eager to blend his new relationship with his family, it’s clear that healing takes time—especially after a decades-long marriage.
