Diddy NOT on the Run: Rapper Paces Around Miami Airport After Federal Raids

Hours after Diddy’s LA and Miami properties were raided by Homeland Security last Monday, the American rapper was seen at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, contradicting rumors that he fled the country.

This comes after a wave of lawsuits led to an ongoing investigation against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Here’s a recap of the legal issues under scrutiny:

Here’s the shocker: Instead of appearing in handcuffs and on the ground, the hit-making hip-hop mogul was seen pacing back and forth by himself outside a Customs office.

While the 54-year-old has been walking around freely and is not in the custody of law enforcement, rumors circulated that he escaped on a privately owned jet.  According to speculations, Diddy flew from California to the Caribbean island of Antigua on the morning of the raid. Footage of him at the airport obviously refutes such claims.

The video, shot at around 3 PM, shows the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer in dark blue sweatpants and a slightly oversized white T-shirt. Looking stressed, he kept one hand in his pocket while the other held what appeared to be a cellphone.

Eyewitnesses state that the embattled music executive and members of his entourage were stopped by the Feds. Homeland Security then swooped in to question him—right after he allegedly boarded a private jet.

On the morning of March 25, SkyFOX’s helicopter footage captured images of several handcuffed people being escorted out of the rapper’s Los Angeles home by Homeland Security. Reports indicate that two of them were Diddy’s sons, 30-year-old Justin and 25-year-old Christian “King” Combs. The identities of the others have not been revealed.

Details surrounding the investigation remain vague, though it can be assumed that they’re related to alleged sex trafficking, domestic violence, and racketeering charges. A source shared with Rolling Stone that four unidentified women and one unidentified man have already been interviewed by the Southern District of New York investigators. Moreover, additional interviews have reportedly been scheduled.

As the case is being filed by one of the top legal institutions in the country, with jurisdictions over Bronx, Dutchess, New York, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Westchester counties, Diddy could be in a whole lot of trouble.

Douglas Wigdor, who represented Cassie and one Jane Doe, spoke out following the raid. He told PEOPLE, “We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”

Diddy has continued to deny the allegations.

A prior statement posted on his Instagram account reads: “Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation, and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.”
