Christine Quinn’s Husband Files Restraining Order Over Concerns That She May Abduct Their Son
Christine Quinn, the former star of Netflix’s two-time Emmy-nominated show Selling Sunset, is in the spotlight again but not for her flawless aesthetic.
News broke on Wednesday that her husband, Christian Dumontet, is seeking a restraining order against her. According to People Magazine, which obtained a copy of Dumontet’s filing, part of his request is that Quinn move out and stay at least 100 yards away from his Los Angeles home.
It’s been reported that he fears for his 3-year-old’s well-being.
This comes after Quinn filed her request for a restraining order after being involved in an alleged domestic violence incident at their Los Angeles home on March 19.
According to Los Angeles Police Department’s Public Information Officer Lee, “The suspect threw a bag containing a glass bottle at the victim, missed the victim, but the object hit the victim’s child causing injury.” At that time, Lee did not specify if the child was the couple’s son, Christian Georges Dumontet.
Dumontet was arrested at the scene for felony assault with a deadly weapon.
The following day, he was taken into custody again for violating an emergency protection order but was released on a $30,000 bond.
In his filing, he denies “incidents of domestic violence within the relationship.”
According to court documents, the couple argued over Quinn’s two Yorkshire Terriers, Bubby and Teddy, on the day of his arrest. He elaborated that he has been the only one cleaning after them, “so much so that operating and cleaning the remote vacuum cleaner has become a bonding activity between himself and 3-year-old Christian.”
In the filing, he said that Quinn refused to clean up after her dogs, reportedly telling him “that she tried to clean but was not going to do anything further.”
It was then that Dumontet grabbed the “trash bag” from the floor and threw it to the side of the room, against the wall. He “did not throw the bag in the direction of Quinn or their child.”
“Additionally, there was no glass in the bag, as there was no broken glass in the room or anywhere in the house,” the court documents claim.
He alleges that Quinn suddenly filed an EPO (emergency protection order) against him “to gain an upper hand in potential divorce and custody proceedings.”
In the restraining order request, Dumontet is asking the judge to restrict Quinn’s travel with their child to L.A. County amid concerns that the former Selling Sunset star may “abduct” their son. He alleges that Quinn “has a history of threatening to take away or hide our children from me” and “not cooperating with me in parenting.”
Quinn, meanwhile, is maintaining that Dumontet has a history of mental illness, has been “verbally and physically abusive,” and has “taken extreme measures to prevent me from leaving the property to work or run errands with our son.” She is requesting the court to order Dumontet to stay away from her, their son, and her two dogs.
She is also asking for full custody of their son with no paternal visitation, as opposed to a joint custody request set forth by her spouse, a tech entrepreneur.
She, too, cites concern that her spouse could leave for his home country with their child as “he has expressed a desire to move to France in the past.”
The judge has yet to rule in her favor.
The estranged couple has been ordered to attend mediation to discuss custody and visitation of the child ahead of their upcoming April 27 court hearing.
