Christine Applegate Reveals Hopes and Dreams “With the Days I Have Left”
Christina Applegate, an actress who became famous in the 1980s, shared a moving post on X last Wednesday, July 3. Her bucket list includes famous celebrities Shirley MacLaine and Cher.
“There are things I want to do with the days I have left in life,” Applegate reflected. “I want to work with Shirley MacLaine. And do shots with Cher! And yes my days are so big. Just saying.”
Her sentiments are even more touching because the 52-year-old was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2019. MS is a chronic, often progressive disease that damages the sheaths of nerve cells in the patient’s spinal cord and brain. Its debilitating symptoms include blurred vision, severe fatigue, speech impairment, and loss of muscular coordination.
The Married…With Children actress has been open about her ongoing battle. She has mentioned how difficult it has been to show up for public and celebrity engagements like the Emmy event in January.
Her followers have also known for some time that Applegate is looking forward to sharing shots with Cher. However, her desire to work with MacLaine is a recent revelation.
She referenced The Trouble With Harry star on X in June, writing, “I wish I could work with Shirley MacLaine. That’s all. Woke up and that dream I have had for my whole life, washed over me. And I wept for a minute. And I’m sure I will again. Oh and Shirley, I don’t have your number anymore so.”
Does Applegate have a shot of starring alongside the author and activist? On MacLaine’s 90th birthday last April, she mentioned to People that she was thankful for the ability to “keep working.” So, it’s always a possibility.
Similarly, Applegate has shared her desire to keep busy with work. Revealing her frustrations with fans through her MeSsy podcast is one way to channel her energy.
In a June episode, she told audiences, “I did the thing, you know, the television thing. That was like the hardest day of my life. Started at 11 o’clock in the morning and didn’t get home until 9:30. I think I slept for two days straight after that. I couldn’t even function.”
Despite the odds, Applegate continues to share her experiences on X. “When we hold in feelings of despair we give those feelings incredible power,” she wrote on the social media platform. “By just sharing, we free ourselves. Never feel alone. There is always an ear somewhere. Love you.”
