Charlize Theron Isn’t Looking For Love, Especially Not In Hollywood
Charlize Theron is not here for the dating games, especially if the player is another actor. In an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Oscar-winning actress, 49, told host Alex Cooper that she has “zero interest” in dating anyone in the entertainment industry.
When asked directly if she’d ever date a man in showbiz, Charlize didn’t hesitate: “No, my God. No, no, no.”
“I don’t think that dating somebody in my industry is a smart thing,” she explained. “I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m not saying that it’s not binary. I just think that in general it’s not a good thing for me.”
Charlize kept it refreshingly real about where her heart and patience currently stands. She is raising two daughters, Jackson and August, as a single mom, and honestly? She’s loving the solo life. “I don’t have to share them with somebody,” she said. “I love that I don’t have to run every f—ing thing by a guy.”
Even though she’s dipped a toe back into dating recently, don’t expect anyone to move in with her anytime soon. “I can tell that no man’s moving into our house while my daughters are there,” she said matter-of-factly.
And as for finding love online? Charlize called dating apps “a f—ing clown show.” She has some clear red flags too: “No Burning Man photos. No photos of you with other women… I don’t want you shooting a f—ing selfie in your closet of your hand in a jean pocket.”
Though Charlize is open to something long-term, don’t expect her to walk down the aisle. “I’m not missing a relationship,” she said. “I’m not missing the partnership that I think people think you miss when you’re me.”
But in case you thought she wasn’t having fun, think again. With a cheeky grin, Charlize admitted, “I did just recently f— a 26-year-old and it was really f—ing amazing and I’ve never done that.”
On the career front, she’s still killing it. Charlize stars in The Old Guard 2, which just premiered July 2 on Netflix. She’s also working on two upcoming projects, Apex and The Odyssey.
