Be Kind to Yourself: Kourtney Kardashian Slams Pressure To Bounce Back After Pregnancy

Kourtney Kardashian is setting the standard for new mommies everywhere.

And no, it’s not about “bouncing back,” which the reality TV star finds “unrealistic.”

The Lemme founder, who recently welcomed son Rocky with drummer Travis Barker, posted the perfect postpartum message for fellow mothers on her IG stories. 

She shared it alongside a few bikini pics that put her post-baby body on full display with crystal blue water in the background.

The text reads, “Your body is beautiful at all stages. During pregnancy as we are glowing and growing, postpartum as we are healing and shrinking, and then that period I find hardest as our bodies are still adjusting. And if you’re breastfeeding, that’s a whole other part of it.” 

The mom of four continued, “I try to be kind to myself as my body finds a new normal. The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different isn’t realistic.”

“Life is beautiful, you are beautiful,” she concluded.

Unlike her sisters, who quickly reverted to their slim-thick bodies, the 44-year-old mom has been a breath of fresh air. She’s been getting real with her postpartum journey since her little one’s arrival.

In December, she shared a picture of herself wearing a bodysuit with a cozy fur coat and a pair of semi-sheer tights. She captioned the post, “When not much in the closet fits yet and the boobs are filled with milk, throw on a cozy coat 🧸🎄.”

She also uploaded quick and easy postpartum-style tips for “getting dressed postpartum while breastfeeding” on her Instagram story in February. In it, she can be seen wearing an oversized trench coat with a black outfit underneath. The caption reads, “anything super fast to throw on=less time away from my baby the better.”

She also praised her husband for helping her feel more comfortable with her new silhouette.

“Every day, Travis is like, ‘You’re perfect,” she added. 

“If I make one complaint, he’s like, ‘You’re perfect, you’re so fine…you’re so fine, you’ve never been better,’ and now I’m like—I’m so into it. Having a partner who’s so supportive of me and always complimenting me no matter what, it’s just like helped me to really embrace the changes, and actually to the point where I love the changes now.”

So, while she has gone back to walking on the treadmill, she is more focused on “doing the most important job in the world … being a mommy, keeping my baby alive, on-demand breastfeeding means keeping calories high with lots of nourishing foods.”

The Posh creator is currently on a weekend getaway in Turks and Caicos with sisters Kim and Khloé Kardashian. 

Kourtney hilariously reposted a picture of herself with Kim and captioned it with, “I love taking pics with my sisters!” She also teased her sister Kim in the caption, “My diamond earring came off in the ocean and it’s gone.” The line referenced her infamous 2011 diamond earring meltdown, a moment that is forever etched in our memories and memes.
