Angela And Jenna Crash The Set Of “The Office” Spinoff

It’s been 20 years since The Office first aired, but the love for Dunder Mifflin is still going strong — and now, there’s a whole new chapter on the way.
Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer, known and loved for playing Angela and Pam, have officially given their stamp of approval to The Office spinoff series. During a nostalgic appearance on the Today show to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary, Angela shared that she and Jenna recently paid a visit to the new set.
“Jenna and I stopped by set. [Co-creator] Greg [Daniels] had invited us,” she said, smiling at the memory. “We showed up, and not only was Oscar there, but our crew, so many of these wonderful people — cause the crew was our extended family, and we’re still really close with them. And that was really moving to see.”
Oscar Nuñez, who’s returning as the always-dry Dunder Mifflin accountant Oscar Martinez, was also on the Today show with Angela, Jenna, and fellow original castmates Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartner, Ellie Kemper, and Creed Bratton. He gave fans a little teaser about the new show’s status, saying it’s currently in the editing stage and more details will be revealed soon. “It’s very, very exciting,” he said with a grin.
The upcoming spinoff was first announced last year and began filming in July. It’s set in a very different office space — a dying historic newspaper somewhere in the Midwest, where a publisher is trying to breathe life into the place using volunteer reporters. If that doesn’t scream “new office chaos,” we don’t know what does.
Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) are leading the new cast, with support from Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, Eric Rahill, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, and Ramona Young. Rahill, Ikumelo, and Edelman will also contribute as writers for the series.
Steve Carell, who famously played Michael Scott, isn’t returning as a character, but he’s fully on board with the new direction. He shared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that Domhnall called him before signing on to the show. “He’s an excellent actor,” Steve stated, adding, “And he actually called me and asked, you know, ‘Should I do this? Is this something… Did you enjoy it?’ I said, of course.”
