Steve Harvey Death Hoax: AI Glitch Causes Social Media Meltdown

In the wild world of celebrity rumors, Steve Harvey has become the latest victim of a bizarre death hoax fueled by artificial intelligence. Fans of the beloved comedian went into a frenzy on December 17 after false reports of his passing spread like wildfire across social media.

It all began when an article titled “Steve Harvey Passed Away Today: Remembering The Legacy Of A Comedy Legend” surfaced on Trend Cast News. The story, eerily dated December 19, 2024, also found its way onto the popular NewsBreak app, leading to a push notification that shocked users.

It didn’t take long for screenshots of the notification to flood social media, with fans expressing everything from confusion to grief. However, it has since been presumed that the article was the result of an AI-generated error. While Harvey’s reps have yet to comment, Us Weekly confirmed that the comedian is alive and well.

This isn’t the first time Steve has been declared “dead” by the internet. In fact, it’s the fourth fake death rumor about him this year. Amid the chaos, Harvey has remained unbothered, continuing to post on his official social media accounts.

On December 18, just a day after the rumor spread, Steve shared a heartfelt Christmas throwback on Facebook. “Throwing it back to Christmas moments filled with love, laughter, and reflection. Grateful for my rock, my queen, Marjorie. Every year, every memory, every blessing,” he wrote, alongside a cozy holiday portrait with his wife, Marjorie Harvey.

Steve and Marjorie have been married since 2007, blending their families into one big, happy crew. Together, they share seven children, including Marjorie’s three kids from previous relationships—Lori, Jason, and Morgan—and Steve’s four kids from his earlier marriages—twins Karli and Brandi, Wynton, and Broderick.

Beyond the AI-induced drama, Harvey’s candid takes on family life and fatherhood are a big reason fans love him. From cracking jokes about his daughters’ dating lives to dropping pearls of wisdom, the entertainer keeps it real.

“If I spot a bad one, I get rid of them,” Steve told Us Weekly in March, referring to his daughters’ suitors. “Everybody’s wonderful in the beginning. You always meet the mask. The mask can last for about 90 days, and then after a while, the mask starts unraveling.”

It’s clear that Steve Harvey isn’t letting an AI slip-up dim his shine. Whether it’s his timeless humor or his family-first philosophy, the comedy legend remains as alive and iconic as ever.
