Tina Knowles Defends Beyoncé’s Kids After Kanye West’s Controversial Post

Tina Knowles isn’t staying silent when it comes to defending her family. On March 18, Kanye West posted a troubling message about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7½-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, on X. In his now-deleted post, he questioned whether anyone had ever seen the children and went on to use offensive language about their mental capacity.

Tina responded the next day with a video on Instagram. “So I’m on the set of a photoshoot today for my book, and I wanted to tell you a corny joke,” she said. “What happens when a snowman throws a tantrum? He has a meltdown. Y’all know that’s funny.”

While her words were lighthearted, her message was clear. In the caption of her post — later edited — Tina addressed the situation more directly. “It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil,” she reportedly wrote, as cited by TMZ and Page Six. “But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper.”

She added, “This battle is not mine, but the Lord’s, I know that God has got this.”

Shortly after, Kanye removed his post. According to Page Six, he later admitted he felt “bad” about what he had written but also hinted that he took it down due to the “possibility” of his X account being shut down.

Kanye has been making headlines again for his repeated antisemitic and homophobic posts on social media. His pattern of controversial remarks has sparked backlash over the years, and this latest incident is no different.

Meanwhile, Tina continues to focus on spreading positivity and resilience. Late last week, she appeared at the In Charge & The Power of Kindness summit in New York City, where she spoke about the values she instilled in her daughters, Beyoncé and Solange. “One thing I taught them was that family comes first. Your children and husband come first,” she said. “And I think they learned to be strong and resilient through hard times. I’ve had many, many hard times. And just to be their true selves and not to be fake or phony. I’ve been preaching that since they were kids.”

Now, Tina is preparing to release her memoir, Matriarch, in April. Speaking at the summit, she shared why she felt it was time to tell her story. “There are so many misconceptions about my family, and I didn’t want anyone else to tell our story. I wanted to tell it myself.”
