Michelle Obama Reveals Frustrations With Barack

Former first lady Michelle Obama opened up on the debut episode of her new podcast IMO with her brother, Craig Robinson, during which she revealed that she never wanted to follow Barack into the White House.

“I couldn’t have gotten through eight years in the White House without my big brother,” Michelle admitted, giving credit to Craig, the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

When Barack first decided to run for president, Michelle’s initial reaction was simple: “No way.”

“You talked me into supporting his run,” she told Craig, adding that Barack knew he had to win over her brother first. “Because I was definitely like, no, no way.”

Trouble in Paradise? Marriage Rumors Swirl

Michelle’s latest complaints come at an interesting time—rumors have been swirling for months about the state of her marriage. The Obamas, who have been married since 1992, have rarely been seen together in public lately, fueling speculation about trouble behind the scenes.

Last month, the couple attempted to shut down the gossip with a loved-up Valentine’s Day selfie on X, with Michelle calling Barack her “rock.” But just last week, the former president was spotted alone at a Los Angeles Clippers game, adding to the speculation that all might not be well.

Michelle on Barack’s Bad Habits: “He’s Improved Over 30 Years”

While Michelle has long been vocal about her distaste for politics, she also took the opportunity to call out Barack’s personal habits—particularly his chronic tardiness.

“Barack had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was,” she shared, recalling their early days together.

“You know, I’ve got this husband who, when it’s time to leave, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom. And I was like, dude, like three o’clock departure means you’ve done all that. It’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses, you know, at the three o’clock departure,” she joked.

While she admitted he’s improved over the years, it’s clear the little things still get to her.

No Deep Conversations?

In another eyebrow-raising moment, Michelle admitted she doesn’t quite understand Barack’s friendships—especially when it comes to his five-hour golf outings.

“My husband is like, ‘what are you talking about all day?’” she shared with writer and actress Issa Rae in the second episode of her podcast.

She added that Barack “does not fully understand” the emotional depth of female friendships—a comment that left fans wondering how much she really connects with her husband behind closed doors.

With Barack going solo and attending high-profile events without Michelle, the speculation isn’t going away anytime soon.
