Jaden Smith’s “Vampire Castle” Headpiece at the Grammys Bewilders Fans

Jaden Smith certainly knows how to steal the spotlight, even without a Grammy nomination or a performance! The 26-year-old artist turned heads at the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, arriving on the red carpet in an eye-catching Louis Vuitton suit and a jaw-dropping headpiece that left fans totally divided.
The Look That Had Everyone Talking
Jaden walked the carpet alongside his younger sister, Willow Smith, who was celebrating her first Grammy nomination. But it wasn’t Willow’s big night that had people buzzing—it was Jaden’s surreal accessory: an elaborate black castle headpiece that looked like it came from a vampire movie. Designed by Romanian brand ABODI, the sculptural piece featured multiple turrets and gothic detailing, framing Jaden’s face.
The Inspiration Behind the Castle
The design was inspired by Transylvanian vampire folklore. ABODI confirmed that the one-of-a-kind piece, retailing for over $4,600, was custom-made for the rapper’s red carpet moment.
“Jaden Smith wore ABODI’s iconic ‘Vampire Castle’ sculptural headpiece. We custom-made the castle for his red carpet-appearance at the Grammy Awards,” the brand shared. They described the piece as combining “the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.”
Dora Abodi, the brand’s founder and art director, defended the unconventional look, emphasizing that fashion and music should be about creativity and self-expression. “The ABODI now-famous Transylvania serves as a symbol of audacity, fortitude, and an embrace of folklore and legends,” she stated.
Jaden’s Vampiric Past
Jaden’s gothic-inspired fashion choice may not be as random as some might think. The rapper has previously claimed to have a deep connection to vampire culture—even saying that he once believed he was a vampire.
“During a period of my life, I was gothic. I was only wearing black, and I was hiding from the sun because I was a vampire,” Jaden revealed in a 2016 interview with Numero. “I was a vampire, for real,” he doubled down, explaining his strict avoidance of sunlight and love of long black trench coats.
Though he later admitted he doesn’t see himself as a vampire anymore, Jaden’s love for the gothic aesthetic clearly hasn’t disappeared entirely.
A Family Affair
Jaden wasn’t the only Smith making headlines at the Grammys. His father, Will Smith, made his return to major award shows since his infamous Oscars slap in 2022. The actor and rapper took the stage to narrate a tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones, marking his re-entry into Hollywood’s biggest nights.
Between Jaden’s castle helmet and Will’s big comeback, the Smiths once again proved they know how to get people talking—whether for their fashion choices or moments on stage.
