Ben Affleck’s Wild Week: Cops, FBI, and a Fiery Drama in LA

Ben Affleck’s life has been rather eventful lately—complete with FBI visits, heated exchanges with cops, and a wildfire crisis.
On Tuesday, the Pearl Harbor star was snapped by paparazzi while in a heated discussion with police officers outside his Los Angeles home. Leaning out of the window of his sleek BMW, Affleck appeared animated, gesturing toward the exit of his gated neighborhood.
While the details of their exchange remain under wraps, sources claim that the cops were around because neighbors hired their own private security. These extra measures were reportedly making it difficult for residents—including Affleck—to access their homes. The actor was eventually able to return to his Brentwood mansion after voicing his frustrations.
FBI Drops By for an Unusual Request
This wasn’t Affleck’s first brush with law enforcement this week. Just two days earlier, FBI agents visited his home. According to an FBI spokesperson, the visit was related to an investigation regarding unauthorized drone activity in connection with the devastating Palisades Fire.
Sources revealed that the agents were checking to see if Affleck had CCTV footage of a rogue drone that had allegedly damaged a “super scooper,” one of the aircrafts used in firefighting efforts. Despite the unusual visit, Affleck has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
A Chaotic Week Amidst Wildfires
The FBI visit and police run-in happened on the heels of Affleck’s evacuation from his rental home on January 7 due to the deadly Los Angeles wildfires. The blazes have wreaked havoc across the region, destroying thousands of homes and claiming at least 25 lives.
During the evacuation, Affleck sought refuge at his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s nearby home, where the former couple co-parent their three children: Samuel, 12, Seraphina, 16, and Violet, 19. According to insiders, Garner has been a steady source of support for Affleck during the ordeal.
But she’s not the only Jennifer keeping tabs on him. Affleck’s latest ex, Jennifer Lopez, has reportedly been in touch with the Gone Girl actor because she was “worried” about him and his kids.
Home Sweet Home
Affleck was allowed back into his home on January 8. While his property has been spared so far, the actor is acutely aware of the destruction around him. “Ben knows many people who unfortunately lost their homes,” a source told Page Six. “Ben is reaching out to anybody he can to help,” the insider added.
