Leanna Lenee Reveals Why Travis Hunter Wasn’t Her Type at First

Travis Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee, is setting the record straight about why she once said the college football star wasn’t her type. The TikTok influencer decided to hit back at the online criticism she’s been getting about their relationship, and she didn’t hold back.

On Monday, December 16, Leanna shared a TikTok video explaining exactly what went down when she first crossed paths with this year’s Heisman trophy winner. According to her, Travis made the first move and reached out to her via Instagram, but it wasn’t love at first sight—or even first message.

So what took her so long to respond? The drama-loving internet wasted no time speculating that Leanna ignored Travis’ DMs until she realized he was an all-star athlete. But she quashed that rumor immediately, saying, “That is not true at all. The real reason [is] because he DMed me when he had a girlfriend.” Yup, you read that right—Travis was already in a relationship when he slid into her messages.

Leanna explained that at the time, his girlfriend’s name was in his bio so she knew he was taken. “I don’t do home-wrecking, I’m not a sidepiece, I don’t stand for any of those things,” she said firmly, adding, “I support women, so I would never do that to another woman ‘cause I would never want it done to me.”

And that’s not all she wanted to clarify. Some fans were confused when Leanna previously mentioned that Travis wasn’t her “type,” so she broke that down too. “I did not mean attractiveness,” she said, adding, “I don’t have a physical type. Period.” According to Lanna, she’s dated men of all backgrounds, including White, Latin, and Black exes. For her, looks and wealth are not what matter most. Instead, she focuses on “who they are as a person, how they honor God, and how they treat the people around them.”

So what exactly did she mean when she said Travis wasn’t her type? Well, it came down to two very specific reasons. “He was younger than me… and he had cheated on his girlfriend,” she admitted. “I don’t know if your type is cheater, but mine isn’t,” she said with a laugh. “So no, he wasn’t my type at first off of those two things.”

Despite her reservations, Leanna admitted she was still “attracted to him” and eventually gave him a chance. And it’s a good thing she did because she was in for an unexpected surprise. “He’s a truly phenomenal and wonderful human being. And that’s why we’re still together to this day,” she stated.

Moral of the story? Don’t always believe the rumors, and never underestimate the power of second chances.
