Amy Adams Joins the Swiftie Club—And Fans Want Her in a Taylor Swift Biopic
Hollywood darling Amy Adams is having a Taylor Swift moment, and Swifties are all for it! The Enchanted star recently revealed she’d jump at the chance to play Taylor Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, in a hypothetical biopic.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Adams expressed excitement when Fallon mentioned fans campaigning that she take on the role. “Uh, that would be amazing,” the redheaded actress gushed, drawing comparisons to Paine. “If it got me closer to Taylor, then that would be fun.”
Paine and Adams are redheads who share a striking resemblance, prompting Swifties’s fans to make the suggestion.
A Swiftie at 50
Adams’ love for Swift is a full-blown fandom thanks to her 14-year-old daughter, Aviana. While promoting her new film, Nightbitch, the Oscar nominee opened up about her recent Swiftie transformation.
“I mean, I’ve always liked her music and appreciated her,” she admitted. “And then I went to the Eras Tour. A friend of mine had a ticket. And then I became, like, a Swiftie at 50. So I’m like a shifty Swiftie at 50.”
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour: An Undeniable Phenomenon
The Eras Tour has been nothing short of historic, smashing records as the highest-grossing concert tour ever and surpassing $1 billion in 2023. Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Serena Williams, Salma Hayek, and even Prince William have been spotted at Swift’s shows.
Adams was lucky enough to snag a ticket, but not everyone in Hollywood could say the same. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confessed to Entertainment Tonight that he had to call in a favor to score tickets for his family. “I’m never good at asking for that kind of stuff,” Johnson revealed. “But in this case, made a little call. Taylor made it happen.”
Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh wasn’t so lucky. “I can’t get in,” he lamented to The Hollywood Reporter. “But I saw the film.”
A Karaoke Night To Remember
Adams’ Swiftie journey isn’t entirely new. At an awards show afterparty that took place years ago, she shared an unforgettable karaoke moment with the pop icon. She sang a duet with Swift to the 4 Non Blondes classic “What’s Up?” Adams hilariously recalled: “I sang really loud over Taylor Swift. And probably not great either.”
From Enchanted To Nightbitch
While Adams dreams of a Swift-inspired role, she’s busy making waves with her latest project, Nightbitch. In the dark comedy, she plays a stay-at-home mom who believes she’s turning into a dog—a role already generating awards buzz. The film hits theaters Friday, but for now, Adams is basking in her new role as Swiftie royalty.
