Adele Gets Candid About Vegas Residency: “I Am Battered”
Adele is closing the curtain on her legendary Las Vegas residency which hasn’t been without challenges. After nearly two years of her Weekends with Adele shows at Caesars Palace, the Grammy-winning singer is opening up about the emotional and physical toll the residency has taken on her.
The singer, who began her residency in November 2022 after initial delays, has captivated fans with intimate performances combining her powerhouse vocals and down-to-earth charm. However, it hasn’t been a walk in the park.
“Doing four hours a weekend of completely live singing is a lot,” Adele confessed to her audience recently. Known for her unfiltered honesty, she didn’t shy away from admitting how much these performances take out of her. “I chat a lot, and I’m very, very sensitive and emotional. I am battered after these shows. I take every single person in this room into my soul; I take you home with me.”
The “Hello” singer revealed her post-show routine involves prioritizing rest to recover from the physically and emotionally demanding weekends. “Mondays, I’m very bedraggled,” she revealed. “I get home very, very, very, very early on Sunday morning rather than very late on Saturday. And I look like a truck has hit me.”
Adele also shared that she frequently goes on vocal rest for a few days after her performances. “Sometimes I need it. Sometimes, I pretend I need it so I don’t have to talk to anybody,” she added with her signature humor.
Adele’s Final Las Vegas Residency Concert
During her final performance at the Colosseum Theater, the 36-year-old told fans that she would miss them and her uncertainty regarding her next steps. “I will miss you terrible,” she admitted before adding, “I’m not doing anything else. I’m actually shitting myself about what I am going to do. I don’t have any f— plans.”
Despite the difficulties, Adele’s Vegas residency has been a monumental success. Fans have kept the venue packed week after week as Adele belts out her chart-topping hits and shares heartfelt moments with the audience. Her honesty about the highs and lows of performing has only deepened her connection with her loyal fanbase.
Offstage, Adele’s life is just as full. She shares her 12-year-old son Angelo with her ex-husband Simon Konecki. Now engaged to sports agent Rich Paul, Adele has embraced her role as a stepmother to Paul’s three children, Zane, Richie, and Reonna.
As her time in Vegas comes to an end, Adele’s emotional reflections have resonated with fans. While her powerhouse performances will be missed, her upcoming break is undoubtedly well-earned.
