Ariana Grande Addresses Cosmetic Surgery Speculations With Lie Detector Test

Ariana Grande is finally putting those long-standing plastic surgery rumors to rest—and she’s doing it with humor and honesty. In a candid interview with Vanity Fair, the pop star and Wicked actress sat down for a lie detector test, where her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, didn’t hold back on asking questions about Grande’s cosmetic surgery history. From nose jobs to boob jobs, and even the infamous Brazilian butt lift, Grande was quick to deny many of the rumors that have circulated online for years.

When Erivo referenced the song “Popular” from Wicked and asked if Grande had ever had any “work done” to feel more “popular,” Grande humorously responded, “Thank goodness,” before diving into the details. She firmly denied having a nose job, saying, “Can you imagine?” and brushed off rumors of a boob job. As for a facelift, Grande admitted she hadn’t gone that far but added with a laugh that she’s “open” to the idea in the future.

The lie detector confirmed the singer-actor was telling the truth, to which Grande excitedly said, “This is the best day of my life. Take that, you YouTube people!” She also dismissed rumors about getting a fox eye lift, a cosmetic procedure that gives a slight lift to the eyes, with a cheeky response: “No, but I discovered it through people who thought I did, and I said, ‘Thank you.’”

Grande did open up about some cosmetic procedures she has tried in the past, sharing that she had Botox and fillers but stopped using them four years ago. While discussing her experience, she expressed support for others who chose to enhance their appearance, saying, “Whatever makes women, men, non-gender-conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”

The pop star also took the opportunity to debunk one of the most notorious rumors, the Brazilian butt lift (BBL). She gave a playful answer, saying, “Get the f— out of here!” before clarifying, “No, that wouldn’t work for me. I don’t think that’s my thing. And I’m OK with that.”

This wasn’t the first time Grande addressed cosmetic surgery rumors. In a 2023 interview with Vogue, she admitted to feeling insecure in the past and using fillers and makeup to hide certain features. Since quitting Botox and fillers, she’s noticed a positive change in her self-esteem but isn’t ruling out future enhancements.

Ariana Grande’s approach to beauty seems simple: do whatever makes you feel good, and don’t let the haters get to you.
