Pink Performs “What About Us” With Daughter Willow at the DNC

Pink put on the performance of a lifetime at the Democratic National Convention, which saw Kamala Harris accepting her party’s historical presidential nomination.

On Thursday, August 22, the “Don’t Let Me Get Me” singer brought her star power to the United Center with a very special guest by her side—her 13-year-old daughter Willow, whom she shares with husband Carey Hart. The duo serenaded the audience with the singer-songwriter’s Grammy-nominated hit “What About Us from her seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma, on the final night of the DNC.

The 44-year-old pop star skipped the crazy acrobatics ahead of Harris’ acceptance speech, obeying gravity just this once to deliver a heartfelt rendition.

Pink, legally known as Alecia Beth Hart Moore, was joined by four backup singers and an acoustic guitarist. Like all good things, this incredible moment was also over in a flash—buuut hey, there’s no timer on memories (and let’s thank Sky Daddy for that!)

Several other entertainers dazzled at the event, including The Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks), Stevie Wonder, Maren Morris, Lil John, John Legend, and Sheila E.

Pink’s presence wasn’t out-of-pocket though.

The “Just Give Me A Reason” singer publicly backed Biden’s 2020 campaign and is evidently extending the courtesy to his successor, Harris. Just last month, in a Zoom call titled White Women: Answer the Call, she officially endorsed the candidate and raised over $2 million in 90 minutes—while breaking the platform’s attendance record!

“We are in this … and I’m just really grateful that us women are going to have a voice, and we’ve always made our voices heard, and now it’s time to just get extra loud. Let’s go. Let’s get loud,” the “TRUSTFALL” singer said during the call per The Wrap.

As for the mother-daughter duo, this isn’t the first time they performed together. (And we sincerely hope it won’t be the last!)

Pink and Willow Sage first shared the stage in 2021 for their duet “Cover Me In Sunshine.” At the time of its release, the challenging 2020, the proud mama told People, “Willow and I find comfort in music, so we’re putting this song out for no other reason than that we hope it brings you sweetness, sunshine, and comfort too.”

The little rockstar was also present for a portion of Pink’s 2024 Summer Carnival tour, with TikTok footage showing the Grammy-winning singer gushing over her daughter. “I love how she lets willow have her centre stage moment,” a user wrote.
