Cardi B Files for Divorce From Offset—Again
Cardi B’s reps confirmed that the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker filed for divorce from Offset on Wednesday.
Unlike their previous marital upsets; however, Cardi B doesn’t seem willing to “work out my s–t with my man” this time.
The hip-hop power couple remained inseparable throughout their marriage—even when cheating rumors began to circulate in January 2018. But we’ll take Page Six’s source at their word when they said that infidelity isn’t the reason behind Cardi B’s second divorce filing.
“They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” the insider explained. “This is something she wants to do.”
“She has no ill will towards him. She’s wishing him the best. She’s not going into this next season with any beef or any drama. She wants everything to be very peaceful.”
And this is not a surprise development, another source explains.
“They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now,” the insider shared. Adding, “It’s not something that happened overnight … They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable.”
Back in May, the chart-topping singer expressed her dilemma on what to do with her marriage during an interview with Rolling Stone. “We think it through…because we do love each other,” she shared. “We’re best friends. And it’s like, ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.’ It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
The “Bongos” rapper shares two kids with the Migos member: Wave Set, 2, and daughter Kulture Kiari, 6. We’re being told she is requesting primary custody.
A day after she filed for divorce, the “Please Me” singer took to Instagram to put an end to pregnancy speculations once and for all. She debuted her baby bump in a stunning red dress, captioning her post with, “With every ending comes a new beginning!”
The mom of two thanked her baby-to-be for bringing her “more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
“You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!,” the American rapper concluded.
