How Cute Is This?! David and Victoria Beckham Celebrate 25th Anniversary in Matching Purple Outfits

“They still fit!” 

Yes, these were the same outfits they rocked at their wedding reception back in 1999!

David and Victoria Beckham, our ultimate power couple, just hit the big 25, and their anniversary photos are nothing less than legendary. 

The glam duo, famous for their success in sports, fashion, and entertainment, celebrated in matching purple ensembles — the very same ones from their wedding reception in 1999. Even lil baby Beckham twined in an adorable purple baby outfit to match!

The former Spice Girl-turned-fashion mogul Victoria gave us all the feels by sharing pics of her and David on her Instagram. One shows them holding hands in a field and the other two are of them standing by and sitting on gilded chairs clad in a purple dress with red accent (her) and all-purple pants and suit (him). 

Fans couldn’t stop gushing. “When people say iconic this is what they should be referencing”, commented TV host Roxy Burger.

David’s cheeky “Look what we found” caption with laugh and purple heart emojis had us all smiling. And why not? 25 years of marriage is no mean feat.  

The couple first met at a soccer match in 1997 when he was 22 and she, 23.  Despite growing up in the same London area, what’s interesting is that they only met as adults.

Spilling the beans on The Ellen DeGeneres Show David had shared about how he couldn’t miss his chance to say hi from across the room. Their second meeting happened a week later at another soccer match where fate again had them in the same place – the players’ lounge. According to David, they talked for about an hour and she had to catch a train so she wrote her number down on a train ticket.

David admitted he was smitten with Victoria even before they met, having seen her perform on TV. The couple got engaged in January of 1998, welcomed their first child Brooklyn Joseph in March 1999, and tied the knot in July 1999. 

He, a star midfielder for Manchester United, and she, Posh Spice from the iconic 90s girl group Spice Girls – talk about a match made in pop culture heaven!

The couple seems to have a penchant for matching outfits. Remember their all-leather look in the 90s? Maybe that’s the secret to their long-lasting love. Or maybe not, as Justin and Britney’s denim disaster taught us – but that’s a story for another time.

A quarter of a century later, with four kids, a business empire, global collaborations, and overcoming a few bumps along the way, they still manage to wow us.
