Nina Dobrev Reports Successful Surgery After Bike Accident

Two weeks after getting into a bike accident, actress Nina Dobrev declared her recent leg surgery a success.

Though there haven’t been many details on how she injured herself, the Vampire Diaries alum hasn’t been shy about her fear of medical procedures. 

In an Instagram post, the celebrity shared a picture of herself wearing a hospital gown. Her eyes looked watery as she gave her smartphone camera the thumbs down. The text over the picture reads, “Anyone else get scared before surgery? I’m such a baby when it comes to needles, blood, or procedures of any kind.”

Before being wheeled into surgery, the 35-year-old took a final before snapshot as she lay on the hospital bed. From under her blanket, she revealed her injured leg, saying on her Instagram Story, “Had to get one last photo of my leg—pristine—before it’s all scarred up.”

In her last pre-operative update, she held a marker and wrote on her left leg. According to the Bulgaria-born personality, she had to mark the correct leg so they wouldn’t operate on the wrong one! 

“😳🫣. Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb,” she wrote in the Stories’ text. “(Because I guess it’s happened in the past that some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb. 🥶😅.) Yikes!!!,” she joked.

All’s Well That Ends Well: Surgery a Success

For anyone worried about the success of the Love Hard actress’ medical procedure, Dobrev shared a triumphant post. Looking tired but still beautiful, the Canadian took a picture after the surgery, this time she gave the camera the thumbs-up sign.

“Surgery was a success 🫶🏼,” she declared in the caption. “Thank you to everyone who has been sending kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know ❤️‍,” she wrote as she ended the post.

Fans and Boyfriend Express Support

After seeing the stream of hospital pictures, fans rallied to her social media accounts to express support and wish Dobrev well. 

“Sorry to see you injured…thank God you’re young and have good health…it should speed up the recovery…make sure you to do everything they tell you to…,” wrote Tracy Grey on Facebook.

Another well-wisher commented, “This is why we wear gear. 😅Hope you heal up quickly!”

Not to be outdone, Dobrev’s boyfriend, Shaun White, sent her a hilarious picture. She shared the image on social media showing the American snowboarder and skateboarder wearing a Vampire Diaries sweatshirt. The name of the most famous character that Dobrev played was boldly written across the garment, “Elena Gilbert.”

As if that weren’t enough, White copped a silly pose for the camera.

Details About Dobrev’s Bike

According to news outlet AutoEvolution, Dobrev was riding an E Ride PRO-SS, an electric motorcycle that can go up to 60 miles per hour. It has been described as an offroad vehicle.
