“Heartsick” Jennifer Lopez Cancels Summer Tour

Jennifer Lopez has canceled her million-dollar tour to spend time with family.
Live Nation representatives announced on Friday that the popular “Dance Again” singer’s US Summer 2024 Tour, This Is Me…Live, has been canceled. “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends,” the promoter cited.
The entertainment company said that tickets will be automatically refunded to those who purchased through Ticketmaster. However, people who got their passes via third-party sites will need to get in touch with their respective points of purchase.
54-year-old “Jenny From the Block” used her On the Jlo newsletter to personally announce the cancellation of her much-awaited 30-city tour.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” the message read. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again.”
The name of her tour is a spin-off of This Is Me… Now. The multimedia memoir was released more than 20 years after its prequel This Is Me… Then, her third most commercially successful album.
The multihyphenate claims that her marriage to Oscar-winning star Ben Affleck inspired her to go back to the studio. News of the cancellation comes amid reports of problems with her marriage to the Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice actor.
Breakup rumors began circulating when Lopez pulled out all the stops at the MET Gala 2024 wearing a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture design. However, the actress and singer was notably flying solo during the event where she served as co-chair.
Though Affleck’s representative explained that he was busy filming The Accountant 2, many assumed there was trouble in paradise.
At the time, a source reached out to Entertainment Tonight to clear the air.
“Ben is 100 percent supportive of Jen and keeps it real with her. They both know this [negative comments about their work] is part of the business and remind each other that you can’t please everyone. They acknowledge what really matters, lift each other up, and encourage each other’s talents and capabilities,” the source assured the public.
Sooooo, it’s possible we’re reading too much into the situation.
Lopez also shut down rumors of a potential split from her partner during a Q&A session, plainly stating “You know better than that.”
So, if her marriage isn’t the reason for canceling the tour, what is?
There have been whispers that the “Can’t Get Enough” singer’s $90M residency was in jeopardy because MGM was nervous about her lackluster pre-booking sales.
The tour was also linked to multiple canceled dates, with reports of Lopez quietly canceling 7 dates in cities like Cleveland and Nashville.
But a source close to The Wedding Planner refuted the allegations, chalking the development to a sensitive time in Lopez’s life and the desire to be with her kids. They also shared that there has been an uptick in sales in Toronto, Rosemont, Orlando, Miami, and Anaheim, with reports that Neward has sold 92% of its seats.
