Jelly Roll And Bunnie XO Announce Plans To Expand Family With IVF

Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO, are planning to expand their family! On Tuesday, the 39-year-old singer and rapper shared on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast that he’s been on a mission to lose weight, shedding over 60 pounds, to ensure he lives long enough to see his future kids grow up.
“My wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize that at almost 40, I need to live to at least 60 to see this kid into college,” Jelly explained. He is already a dad to daughter Bailee Ann, 16, and son Noah Buddy, 7½, from previous relationships.
Reflecting on life expectancy, Jelly mentioned the late Jerry Garcia, who died at 53. He said, “I was young, so I thought, ’56 would be great for me!’ It’s better than 27 when all the other stars died. But now, I’d like to see my 60s. And that really lit it up.”
His determination is evident in his lifestyle changes. Jelly recently completed his first 5K race in May and shared with PEOPLE in April that he had lost over 70 pounds, attributing his success to a rigorous routine of daily exercise, healthy eating, sauna sessions, and cold plunges.
Bunnie, who married Jelly in 2016, took to Instagram to share their IVF journey with their followers. “Papabear dropped a surprise on this pod today,” she wrote.
“We had planned on doing this privately but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we’ve always been so open,” she continued, adding, “God Willing – Baby DeFord 2026,” along with a watery-eyed emoji.
IVF, or in vitro fertilization, is a medical process where mature eggs are surgically removed from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. After a period of usually three to six days, one or more of the fertilized embryos are transferred into the uterus, hoping to lead to a healthy pregnancy.
Bunnie has embraced Jelly’s children as her own, despite not being their biological mother. In 2017, the couple was granted full custody of Bailee, following her mother’s battle with drug addiction. The teen shared on Bunnie’s Dumb Blonde podcast that she and her biological mother are working on their relationship as her mother recovers.
Fans have also witnessed Bunnie’s loving bond with Jelly’s son, Noah, through their playful TikTok videos. On Mother’s Day in 2020, Jelly praised his wife on Instagram, writing, “It takes a special kind of woman to raise a kid that isn’t her child and still treat the child as if she was.”
