K-Pop Star Park Bo-Ram’s Cause of Death Revealed 6 Weeks After Her Untimely Passin

K-Pop star Park Bo-Ram’s cause of death has been revealed.
Spoiler alert: It’s not homicide or suicide.
Bo-Ram’s agency, XANADU Entertainment, clarified details surrounding her death last April 14. It urged fans to avoid spreading rumors as a sign of respect for her grieving family.
“An autopsy was performed this morning to confirm the cause of death of the late artist Park Bo-ram. The autopsy showed no signs of homicide or suicide, and the exact results will be delivered to the bereaved family at a later date (sic),” it shared.
The Namyang Police Department also received the autopsy results of the late singer from the National Forensic Service as reported by the news outlet Allkpop.
The “Beautiful” singer is believed to have died from acute alcohol poisoning.
The autopsy also showed that the 30-year-old was suffering from health concerns, including fatty liver disease and liver lesions at the time of her death.
No other possible causes or contributing factors have been identified.
On April 11, Park Bo-Ram was found dead at a friend’s home in Seoul. The police report states that the singer was at a private drinking party on the night of her passing. She allegedly excused herself to go to the bathroom at 9:55 pm KST.
When she didn’t return after some time, her friends went in to check on her. They then found her unconscious and slouched over the sink. They immediately called for help and performed CPR on her while waiting for emergency responders.
Park Bo-Ram was eventually moved to a hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.
XANADU Entertainment was the first to announce her untimely death. “We are here to share sorrowful and heartbreaking news. Park Bo-Ram suddenly passed away late at night on April 11. All of the artists and executives at XANADU Entertainment are deeply mourning the deceased with great sadness,” the entertainment agency informed the public.
“The funeral will be held after consulting with the bereaved family. Once again, we send our deepest condolences to the deceased so she may rest in peace,” it continued.
Her family and friends bid her goodbye on April 17 at the Seoul Asan Hospital Funeral Hall in Pungnap-dong. Her colleagues, including Huh Gak, Heo Young Ji, and Roy Kim, were present for the solemn farewell ceremony.
Park Bo-Ram rose to fame after she participated in Mnet’s SuperStar K2 at the age of 17. She finished the competition in eighth place.
Bo-Ram went on to deliver many hits, including “Hyehwa-dong,” “Celepretty,” “When I Look at You,” “Dynamic Love,” and “Please Say Something Even Though I Know It’s a Lie.” She won Artist of the Year in August at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards where she received various nominations.
During her career, she collaborated with heavy hitters like Eric Nam, Huh Gak, Lil Boi, Parc Jae Jung, Park Kyung, and Rapper Zico.
On April 3, just 10 days before her death, she released a new single titled “I Miss You,” which now has over 211,000 views on YouTube. According to reports, she was preparing a brand new album to mark the 10th anniversary of her debut.
