JLo and Ben Affleck Spent Sunday as a Happy Couple Amid Reports of Marital Rift
Ben Affleck and JLo were spotted spending time together on Sunday, May 19.
Affleck picked up the “Waiting for Tonight” singer outside the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, and was seen smiling behind the wheel.
Which is rarer than a unicorn, by the way.
(Only joking!)
The pair was later spotted walking together in the West Hollywood area of LA, likely after grabbing dinner together at BOA Steakhouse. Lopez was looking chic in a cozy outfit complemented by a trench coat while Affleck stuck to his casual staple.
Their outing marks the second time Bennifer was seen together in public after an extended absence of 47 days. The first was on Thursday night when the two got together to celebrate the Air actor’s kid, Fin Affleck, performing in a school play.
That’s one way to squash estrangement rumors. Take notes.
But will this distract us from the fact the couple is not living under the same roof?
Absolutely not.
Ben was spotted in the Brentwood neighborhood of LA Thursday morning—close to ex-wife Jennifer Garner. TMZ reported he’s been using it as his base for the past week or so. But while noticeably apart, the actor was seen with his wedding ring.
So, maybe it’s time to put a stop to all the speculation?
Well, Lopez’s recent Instagram activity is the only thing holding us back.
The “If You Had My Love” singer liked an Instagram post that details traits unhealthy for romance, adding fuel to the reports of marital tension. Sheesh.
It reads, “You cannot build a healthy relationship with someone…who lacks integrity & emotional safety,” “doesn’t respect your time,” “lacks effective communication skills”, and “doesn’t know who they are or what they want.”
Lenna Marsak, a relationship coach who posts under the handle @yourcourageouscomeback, shared evidence of the interaction on her IG story.
She later shared a video asking her followers to “Please be kind to Jennifer Lopez because she’s a human being.” Adding, “I do not know if they’re getting divorced.”
“I hope not,” she concluded.
Well, we’re right there with her!
After all, it was only last February that Affleck appeared on JLo’s Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, showering her with his unwavering support.
The Justice League actor also shared juicy details about their rekindled relationship and blamed social media for driving them apart the first time around.
“Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media. Then, I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water,” he said.
However, he is not a big fan of his wife making his private musings public.
“Jen was really inspired by this experience, which is how artists do their work. I know as a writer and director, I certainly do those things,” Affleck said, expressing his discomfort. “But things that are private, I’d always felt were sacred and special—because, in part, they’re private. So that was a bit of an adjustment for me.”
What do you think?
Is a divorce filing imminent, especially since the two seem to be on completely different pages most of the time? Or is it just a case of two people finding themselves in a long-distance relationship?
Right now, Affleck is busy shooting for his upcoming movie, The Accountant 2, while Jennifer has a jam-packed schedule as she prepares for her This Is Me … Live tour, which is slated to begin on June 26.
