Sammy Hagar Honored With Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame Alongside Wife Kari And Family

Renowned rocker Sammy Hagar, celebrated for his dynamic performances and infectious energy, received one of the highest honors in Hollywood this week. The 76-year-old Van Halen legend was all smiles as he stood beside his biggest supporter, his wife of nearly three decades, Kari Hagar, 57.

The star-studded event, held on Tuesday, April 30, saw the Hagar family out in full force, with daughters Kama, 28, and Samantha, 23, joining in the celebration. Also present were Sammy’s sons from a previous relationship, Aaron and Andrew, showcasing the tight-knit bond of this musical family.

In a heartfelt speech, Sammy expressed his gratitude for his devoted partner, stating, “Anybody that [doesn’t] recognize Kari, just look for the most beautiful woman in this town. Kari’s been hanging out with me now for 32 years. And I mean, she’s been holding on for dear life. It’s like riding on a rocket ship being around me, I can’t help myself,”

He continued, emphasizing the importance of having a supportive partner, especially during moments of success. “I can’t tell you how I enjoy having a partner every time something good happens. I don’t want to share that by myself. I don’t want to live in a beautiful home and drive fast cars and walk on a beautiful beach without my wife, you know? It’s really important to have a partner that supports you and that you want to be with and be around and that’s Kari,” he shared.

The ceremony was not only a family affair but also a gathering of close friends and colleagues, including celebrity chef Guy Fieri, musician John Mayer, and Sammy’s longtime manager Tom Consolo, who shared touching anecdotes and congratulatory messages.

Reflecting on the significance of his star during a conversation with PEOPLE, Sammy expressed profound gratitude, stating, “To me, it’s the final thing that you can achieve.”

“This goes in the streets for 10 million people a year to see, and I think it’s quite the statement. It’s almost like I could say, ‘Well, I can quit now!’ because I don’t know any higher achievement or award. [But] I can’t [quit]. It’s not in my DNA,” he continued.

This milestone in Sammy’s illustrious career also shines a light on his enduring love story with Kari, which began in the early 1990s during a chance encounter at a Van Halen tour stop. Their relationship, documented in a 2005 episode of VH1’s I Married…, captures the essence of a partnership built on mutual respect and unwavering support.
