Kardashian Sisters Have Been Banned From Making Speeches at Family Functions

There’s no doubt about it—the Kardashians love being in the limelight. In an interesting revelation, however, sisters Khloe and Kourtney shared that they’ve been banned from giving speeches at family gatherings since their social faux pas at Kim’s wedding.

The revelation began with Kourtney uploading a photo of herself on social media as she delivered a toast at a launch party. The same post mentioned that she’s given up speeches since she and Khloe embarrassed themselves during Kim’s wedding. Kourtney wrote that they “gave a drunken speech together at @kimkardashian’s second wedding.”

Khloe then picked up the post. The 39-year-old mother-of-two reposted the picture on her IG story with more detail. Khloe clarified that they’ve since been explicitly asked not to give public speeches anymore. She began with, “This is a true story.”

The Good American co-founder elaborated, “Although she used the word ‘gave up,’ we were BANNED from speeches ever since that wedding. It was not pretty for either one of us.”

Khloe then mentioned that she’d like her and Kourtney to regain their speech privileges. She wrote, “I’m pretty sure almost everyone in attendance enjoyed our speech that evening. I vote to bring back Kourt and Kokes speeches back! Who’s with me?”

This is not the first time that Kim’s sisters talked about the ban. Khloe first mentioned it in 2014 as a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden. During her TV appearance, she revealed that she wasn’t allowed to make a speech at Kim’s wedding with Kanye West. Recalling the event, she narrated, “I wasn’t allowed to give a speech because I just ramble, and I think I’m maybe giving a compliment and I’m not saying the right thing.”

The reality went on, “I’m such a talker, and I feel like I’m such an open book, but I did get banned from speaking at Kim and Kanye’s wedding.”

Her then-brother-in-law, Kanye, teased her about the ban by saying that she really just wanted to talk about their union so she could share a few of Kim’s secrets.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kim narrated her recollection of events. She said, “I think everyone just had such a good time at Versailles that they drank too much. Khloe drank a little too much the night before and I had to wake her up.”

Kim added, “She was laying down and getting her make-up done while she was sleeping, she was so hungover!”

The event where it all began was Kim’s first wedding to Kris Humphries on August 20, 2011. Kim and Kris started dating in October 2011 and got married 10 months later. Despite being featured on E! as a four-hour “fairytale wedding,” the two called it quits after 72 days.

So far, neither Khloe nor Kourtney has been seen making speeches at any Kardashian event. It’s safe to assume that the ban is still in place though it’s unclear which family imposed it in the first place.
