Vanessa Hudgens Debuts Her Baby Bump at the Oscar’s
It’s confirmed! After months of speculations, Vanessa Hudgens is pregnant.
She proudly flaunted her baby bump at the 96th Annual Academy Awards last Sunday in Hollywood.
For months—even before Vanessa’s wedding to professional baseball star Cole Tucker—fans of the High School Musical actress have been speculating that she could be with child.
The actress finally showed off her growing belly by wearing a black dress that hugged her curves. Multiple times on the red carpet, Vanessa was seen cradling and touching her baby bump.
Vanessa’s pregnancy confirmation comes several days after the singer shared that she was feeling fat. Not too long ago she got engaged to Cole and had a bachelorette party in Aspen, Colorado. At the event, Vanessa said that she felt negativity because the public was focused on whether or not she was pregnant.
The Princess Switch actress revealed, “I feel like I literally just had a run-in with the public taking control over their opinion of me in a disrespectful way. I went out on my bachelorette, and I posted a video of myself, and there are all these comments that are like, ‘Oh my god. You’re pregnant.’ And I’m like, ‘that is so rude. I’m sorry. I don’t wear Spanx every day, and I’m a real woman and have a real body.”
Vanessa added, “I’m celebrating one of the happiest times of my life, and you guys are just gonna make me feel fat. That’s great. Thanks.”
This prompted Vanessa to conclude, “Don’t make assumptions…in all aspects of life but especially over other women’s bodies.”
She explained, “We deal with so much with other people trying to control our bodies, let’s not make assumptions over other women’s bodies as well.”
In the video taken during Vanessa’s bachelorette party, the bride-to-be wore baggy clothing, a stark difference from how she usually dresses. This prompted her followers to speculate if she might be pregnant.
A debate ensued online below her post which didn’t sit well with the actress. She eventually replied, “[eyeroll emoji] not pregnant, so y’all can stop.” Unfortunately, her comment didn’t stop comments like, “OMG, she’s preggers” and “She’s pregnant indeed.”
A few of Vanessa’s followers came to her defense by leaving comments like, “For those commenting about pregnancy, it’s rude. We’re human! She’s happy, so please don’t comment about her body if you don’t want anyone asking you.”
Vanessa and her new husband met through a Zoom meditation session during the global lockdown. They got engaged in February 2023 and married last December after three years of dating. Their wedding ceremony was held in Tulum, Mexico.
During a podcast, Vanessa talked about being grateful that her relationship with Austin Butler dind’t work out. According to her, it allowed to her meet her husband.
Recall that Vanessa and Austin dated for almost a decade. While Vanessa moved on and married Cole, Austin began dating supermodel Kaia Gerber.
Though it was a painful breakup for the actress, she says it gave her a chance to reflect on the good things it brought her—the chief example being her marriage to Cole.
