Gisele Bündchen’s New Relationship Is Under Scrutiny

Tom Brady’s fans have things to say about Gisele Bündchen, his former wife’s, new boyfriend. The former couple’s messy split just doesn’t seem to be ending. Here’s what we know so far. 

Bündchen and Brady met in 2006 and got married in February 2009. They have two children together, Benjamin and Vivian. The two seemed to be doing well until they announced their divorce in October 2022.

The Brazilian model now seems to have a new boyfriend, and he isn’t what one might expect. Bündchen is now dating her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente. The couple have kept their relationship private since June 2023, but sources only confirmed their relationship in February. 

“They have been dating since June. They’re taking it slow. They started out as great friends first. She’s very private about this and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other,” a source revealed. 

However, Brady’s friends shared a few startling revelations in return. Apparently, Brady’s connections called “BS” on the dating timeline. Sources confirmed that the relationship started long before they owned up to it, hinting at infidelity on Bündchen’s part. When asked for a comment, sources said, “They should add ‘2021’ after June. Then the headline would be accurate.” 

Another source had something else to add when asked about the cause of the celebrity couple’s divorce. “Gisele has always been the one with the kids. They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind,” they said.

Fans also noted that Valente and his brother were seen with the family before the divorce was finalized, raising many eyebrows. However, sources cleared the air, revealing Valente gave the family intensive jiu-jitsu training, and his relationship with the former Victoria’s Secret Angel was purely “platonic at that time.” Things changed in July 2023, after Bündchen and Valente “had a conversation and became a couple.” 

In March 2023, Bündchen told Vanity Fair about the rumors that had been circulating, “He’s our teacher and, most importantly, he’s a person that I admire and that I trust. It’s so good to have that kind of energy, to have my kids around that type of energy.”

She added, “I think, at this point, unfortunately, because I’m divorced, I’m sure that they’re going to try to attach me to anything … I’m so grateful to know all of [the Valente brothers], because not only have they helped me and helped my kids, but they have become great friends, and Joaquim especially.”

Since then, the 43-year-old model and jiu-jitsu instructor have made multiple public appearances. They have been seen horse-riding, running, and spending time together at the beach—sometimes by themselves and at other times with Bündchen’s children and friends. 

As for Brady, he retired for the second and last time this January. Sources say he is looking forward to spending more time with his children. Sources also revealed the former quarterback “isn’t formally dating anyone right now,” noting that friends “want to set him up, but he’s all about the kids.”
