Christie Brinkley Is Owning Her Age With a Caribbean Birthday Celebration
There’s no stopping birthday girl Christie Brinkley from flaunting her incredibly toned and trim shape as she celebrated her 70th birthday in the Caribbean. The model was seen happily enjoying her extended celebration wearing a cherry red one-piece swimsuit.
The Vacation actress shared several snaps of her Caribbean vacation on her Instagram account and captioned them with, “Jumping into 70 with a boatload of fun and counting my blessings everyday! 12 of them are in the last photo! #friends #sensational70 #livelyupyourself.”
Billy Joel’s ex-wife was with her children, Sailor and Jack, and New York-based couple Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict.
Friends from the industry were quick to greet the birthday girl. Heidi Klum wrote, “Happy Birthday ❤️ The best compliment I get is when people tell me I look like you.”
Many were surprised that Christie was celebrating her 70th birthday because she looked nothing like her age. The pinup appeared youthful and stylish while enjoying her adventures at sea.
One of her OOTDs was accessorized with a cute beaded hippie crossbody purse. A week before, she was also photographed looking svelte in a jet-black suit.
In the image where Christie wore the suit, the caption read, “This is 70, and you’ve nothing to fear. Because you can make it your own very favorite year!”
The Sports Illustrated model continued, “It’s up to you; it’s. It’s in your power to choose to celebrate instead of cower. You know what to do: Exercise and eat right, use your sunblock, and don’t sit under overhead lights!”
She continued, “Be curious, explore, and go on adventures; just don’t forget to pack your dentures. Seriously, laugh and love with all your might …and I promise you 70 will be all right.”
The American actress has three children with three men. Her oldest is Alexa Ray Joel whom she shares with Billy Joel. She has Jack Paris Brinkley Cook with Richard Taubman and Sailor Brinkley Cook with Peter Cook.
All of Christie’s children penned greetings on social media. Sailor greeted her mom with a simple, “HAPPY SEXY 70, MOM!”
Alexa posted, “Happy Birthday To This Ever-Beautiful, Pure, N’ Precious Mother O’ Mine… Who Always Feels Like Home To Me. A week before her Caribbean birthday, Christie talked about how she managed to maintain her youthful glow and trim body decades after she shot to fame in the 1970s.
While chatting with People, the model admitted that she was fine with having a few lines and that she had tried Botox in the past, but it was not something she was fond of doing.
Her talk with the publication revealed that she was letting herself age naturally. “I want to accept certain wrinkles. That’s the way I’m approaching aging,” she shared.
The former Vogue cover girl also mentioned, “Sometimes when people get older, and they overdo it, they can look waxy and—I don’t know what the word is—preserved or something. I want a little life to show on my face, you know?”
