Osbournes Furious Over Kanye West’s Unauthorized Use of Black Sabbath Music
“He’s a pig,” Sharon Osbourne ranted to TMZ. Apparently, Kanye West recently reached out to the famous celebrity couple for permission to use a song by Black Sabbath, the band of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne. Despite turning Kanye down, the Osbournes learned that the rapper still used the track in his album with Ty Dolla $ign.
The music in question was a sample of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.” It was used in Kanye’s song “Talking / Once Again” which is now part of his album entitled Vultures 1.
According to the 75-year-old heavy metal artist, “War Pigs” was used after he withheld permission for Kanye to use it. He learned about its unauthorized use on February 9 after Kanye’s listening party the day before.
Obviously upset, Ozzy expressed his outrage at Kanye’s latest stunt on Instagram. He wrote in all caps, “@KAYNEWEST ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A [SECTION] OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ‘WAR PIG’ FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS.”
The post went on to explain the reason for his decision: “REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT.”
Osbourne concluded, “I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!”
Sharon, whose father is Jewish, revealed that the couple sent Kanye a letter to cease and desist. She said to TMZ, “Kanye [messed] with the wrong Jew this time. He represents hate and is a disrespectful antisemite…so Ozzy had a “special occasion to say no.”
She then called him a pig.
Kanye has received a lot of negative publicity lately for his antisemitic views. He has posted antisemitic comments on social media and even included antisemitic lines in the lyrics of one of his songs.
He has lost plenty of partnerships, endorsements, and even friendships after all his unwarranted and explosive rants. The ex-husband of Kim Kardashian even vowed to “death con 3 on Jewish People” in a series of sick posts online.
His latest album contains more vile lyrics, including, “How am I anti-Semitic? I just f****d a Jewish b***h.” Kanye did issue a lengthy apology to the Jewish community last year. Still, it was reported that he only did so because he was pressured by his wife Bianca Censori, who was growing concerned about all the death threats they had been receiving.
Kanye’s Response
Since incurring the Osbournes’ wrath, Kanye has fired back at the couple in a rather simple yet eloquent way. He uploaded a picture of Ozzy and Sharon from last Halloween. In 2023, the two dressed as Kanye and Bianca.
Ozzy wore an all-black tracksuit that covered even his face while Sharon gave the impression of wearing nothing by holding a large square pillow over her torso. Their costumes hilariously poked fun at Kanye and Bianca’s penchant for wearing unorthodox and controversial styles.
Though many found it funny, it seems like Kanye doesn’t agree.
