Rebel Wilson’s Health Revelation and Feelings of Sadness After Weight Gain
Rebel Wilson is one of Hollywood’s testaments that you can achieve your dream body with hard work and discipline. She lost an impressive 5.5 stone or 77 pounds in 2020, in what the actress dubbed her “Year of Health.”
But today, the Pitch Perfect star admitted that she is feeling quite low after she gained almost 30 pounds due to stress.
The Australian actress shared her sentiments on her Instagram account, which boasts 11.1 million followers. She wrote, “Working hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14 kilograms (30 pounds)! It makes me feel bad about myself… it shouldn’t… but it does.”
She continued, “I’m proud of the work I’ve been doing on new movies and my memoir. It’s just been a LOT, and I’ve lost focus on my healthy lifestyle. Anyone else going through the same thing?”
Rebel has been very open and candid about her weight loss journey and was keen to document and share her progress on social media. Her posts are very popular with her fans, and many were challenged to also focus on their health and wellness. Many took inspiration from Rebel’s svelte figure and shared stories of how they embarked on their own wellness journeys.
In 2020, the actress took charge of her health. She set her fitness goals and weight loss targets for the end of the year. She promised herself that before she rang in 2021, she should be down to 165 pounds.
Jono Costano, her trainer from Acero gym, worked with Rebel in her strict regime. He designed and guided the actress throughout the grueling sessions. She was entirely dedicated to her 12-month goal, and she said that she was embracing her new lifestyle day by day.
The comedian’s trainer said he tried to make Rebel’s workouts fun. They incorporated an assault bike, battle ropes, and a medicine ball to make the exercise plan more engaging and even enjoyable.
Another of Rebel’s trainers, Gunnar Peterson, told People Magazine in its October 2021 issue that Rebel has been very serious about her workouts and was determined to make them work from the very beginning.
Gunnar told the publication, “And when she went to do her last three projects, she was with me for a few months, and then she’d be gone for a couple months, and I don’t worry about her. She has locked in. It’s the best.”
Additionally, Rebel has been very smart about her lifestyle. She was eating right and working out the right way. The actress also stayed on top of her game when it came to managing her stress levels and ensuring she kept up with her training regime.
Rebel seemed able to perfect her lifestyle change formula, which was evident in her weight loss.
She transitioned from her carb-heavy diet, where she could easily consume 3,000 calories a day. Instead, she went with high-protein alternatives so she wouldn’t feel as hungry and as often.
