After Divorce, Jason Momoa Says He’s Houseless But Not Homeless

Jason Momoa recently admitted to ET that he has adopted a nomadic lifestyle and doesn’t own a full-time home of his own. Many were shocked at the revelation given his A-list celebrity status.

Several days after his confession, the Aquaman star clarified what he meant to People by saying “I’m just houseless. I’m not homeless.”

Jason added that his busy schedule is one of the reasons why he has yet to settle down. As an actor, he often travels from one set location to another. He elaborated, “I have a nice trailer. Everyone’s like, ‘Jason Momoa’s homeless.’ I’m like, ‘Relax. I got a f***ing sleeping bag.”

These remarks came about after Jason finalized his divorce with Lisa Bonet, his ex-wife. Their divorce took almost two years to complete since sharing the news that they would be separating.

Recall that 44-year-old Jason and 56-year-old Lisa started their relationship in 2005. They tied the knot in 2017 in an intimate ceremony. During their years as a married couple, they welcomed two children, 16-year-old Lola and 15-year-old Nakoa-Wolf.

Six years into their marriage, they revealed in January 2022 that they were calling it quits. According to the court documents that Lisa filed, the official date of their separation was October 2020. The divorce was finalized last January 9 and the two agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their kids.

The paperwork obtained by The Blast read, “Based upon the division of assets and income as agreed by the parties in the (settlement), the parties shall share the living expenses of the minor children, and neither party shall pay child support to the other.”

The former couple also agreed that “if the minor children, or either of them, are traveling or vacationing with one of the parties, that party shall be responsible for the children’s expenses for such trips.”

Jason and Lisa’s divorce was listed as uncontested with both parties waiving the right to seek or receive spousal support from the other.

Jason’s career skyrocketed after his breakout role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. He appeared in the first two seasons of the series which aired from 2011 to 2012. After that stint, Jason received multiple offers to take on juicy roles.

This led the Honolulu native to work tirelessly and persistently. Today, it appears that there’s no stopping him.

In the last six years, Jason has starred in several high-profile movies like Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018), Dune (2021), Fast X (2023), as well as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). On top of his films, he also starred in three seasons of Frontier (2016-2018) and three seasons of See (2019-2022).

In addition, Jason has interesting projects lined up. He will be taking on the lead roles in the upcoming historical drama Chief of War and the American-Italian drama In The Hand of Dante. He also has a new reality series called On The Roam where he will be traveling constantly to meet extraordinary people. The show is scheduled to make its debut on January 18 on Max.
