Natalie Portman Goes Solo During Golden Globes: Is Her Marriage in Trouble?

Could Natalie Portman be subtly confirming that her marriage is at an end? It’s become common knowledge that Natalie is going through a rough patch in her relationship with her husband, Benjamin Millepied. Still, it appears that the actress has been giving subtle signs that her relationship is on the rocks.

Recall that news about Benjamin’s sensational cheating erupted last year when it was reported that the 46-year-old had an affair with a younger woman. Since then, the couple, especially the 42-year-old Natalie, has kept quiet about what’s happening in their household.

However, during Natalie’s newest interview with WSJ Magazine, she stated that she is now living in Paris with her two children, but she failed to mention Benjamin. This was one of the clues that the Star Wars actress dropped, causing many fans and friends to assume that they were not able to get past the infidelity issue.

Natalie’s interview with the publication was released a few days after she appeared on her own at the Golden Globes red carpets. During the event, she was spotted without her wedding ring. Many even speculated that she may have been crying before the event because her eyes appeared red.

It was revealed in the interview that she and her two children, 12-year-old Aleph and 6-year-old Amalia, are living with her in Paris. The publication failed to include Benjamin’s whereabouts which was rather suspicious and eventually raised the question of whether the two are still living together as husband and wife.

Since his cheating became public, Natalie has not been wearing her wedding band all the time. The last time she was seen wearing her ring was back in June—just a few days after Benjamin’s alleged infidelity.

During that time, Voici, a French outlet, published the explosive controversy by revealing that the choreographer cheated on Natalie with Camille Etienne, a 25-year-old climate activist. Recall that back then, People also reported that the affair was short-lived and that Benjamin was doing everything he could to win his wife’s forgiveness and keep their family together. 

One close source commented, “Benjamin is aware of the enormous mistake he committed.” Meanwhile, Natalie has yet to speak about her marriage woes. An insider revealed, “Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy.”

Did Benjamin fail? Maybe, maybe not, but he needs a powerfully compelling intervention if he wants to keep his marriage and family together.

In August 2023, one insider informed Us Weekly that the pair were separating after failing to repair and recover from the cheating allegations. However, there was no official confirmation from the couple or their representatives.

People close to Natalie and Benjamin insisted that they were trying to move forward because they were in love with each other. At the time, it seemed that Natalie was feeling lost on how to handle the infidelity issue. She didn’t know if she wanted a divorce or not.

Unfortunately, the subtle signs that Natalie has been showing may be indications that their marriage may be ending soon.
